In these two pictures, she looked happy. It irked me. I couldn’t wait till my lady was in control. All the happiness… she’d snatch it away like they did with hers. Once Mistress is through with them…
I began to flip to the next page, slowly, waiting for her to snatch the album away from me.
Without thinking I leaned forward and snatched the album from his hands, pressing it to my chest. "That's—That's enough." I snapped it shut. This was an awful idea—why had I gone through with it?
"Is that enough to satisfy your curiosity?" I asked him, swallowing awkwardly Beside me, Scylla shifted, poking my leg with her tail in a way that was supposed to be meaningful.
Inwardly, I was smirking. There we go. The uncomfortable atmosphere. It was working.
On the outside, I pulled on a small smile.
”Yes,” I answered, pulling myself to my feet. ”Thank you, Elle.”
"I–I should go." Standing abruptly, I took a small step back towards the door. "What time should I meet you for training tomorrow?" Responding to my distress, the pipes in the walls around us groaned.
Hearing the pipes groan, I wanted to break out laughing. Perfect. Brilliant. She was feeling it. Do you see that, Colton? I hope you do. I hope you see everything I’m doing to her—every tiny discomfort, while she thinks it’s you who’s out of her happiness.
“Ten in the morning,” I answered with a pleasant expression. ”Good evening, Elle.”
I was too busy escaping to respond.
Something about the look on his face as he'd thumbed through the closest thing I had to a diary, a record of my life, had put me at ill ease. He shouldn't even have known about my other life, and now he'd seen the real Elliot. And the real me.
This wasn't going to end well…
The second she left, I threw my head back and barked out a laugh, resting my hand on my face.
”Ah… this is so much fun…” I chuckled, shaking my head. ”Did you see that, Princeling? Do you see what I’m doing to your girl—did you see the look of discomfort on her face? Aren’t you going to do anything about it?”
I was met with silence, which further increased the laughter escaping my mouth.
”Of course you aren’t. You’ll never be able to do anything. Just stay there and let me devour you. Just a little while longer, Colton, and I’ll be you forever…”
[TIME SKIP - Andreas's POV, three days later]
"Kaden?" I called softly, rapping my knuckles against his doorframe. "Can I come in?" Adding a playful little whine to my voice when he didn't respond, I knocked again. "I'm cold and want to cuddle with you~"
Kaden’s POV:
I immediately sat up straight the second I heard the sentence. It was playful, but damn me if I didn’t take it seriously.
Opening my door, I let him in.
“I did feel a little empty sleeping in my bed alone,” I mused. “Thank you for joining me, Andreas~”
Grinning like a lovestruck idiot—who's to say I wasn't one—I closed the distance between us, pressing out lips together in a chaste kiss and ducking under his arm. My hair still stuck up in all directions from the fierce gale blowing outside, and my cheeks were pink from the cold. A messenger bag was slung across my shoulder, from which peeked Copper's tiny head.
I blinked for a second at the sudden initiation, but I quickly pushed my surprise aside and kissed him back, wrapping my arms around him and tugging him closer.
“Someone missed me,” I murmured just as Hope sprang up from the bed, chattering excitedly. There was something I observed from Copper and Hope. Both of them were far more happy in each other’s presence than anyone else. I had a theory, but I thought it was stupid. What if creatures actually fell for their bondmate’s lover’s creature?
Copper zipped straight out of my bag and went straight for Hope, his body glowing like a hot coal. Meanwhile, I grinned into the kiss, my arms winding around Kaden’s waist. “I missed you..”
I lightly bit his lip, groaning into his mouth. God, either my lips were burning due to his touch, or he was seriously losing control over his emotions, because, like I said, my lips were burning. “Missed you, too…”
I practically melted in his hands, crumbled beneath his mouth. “Then show me…” I groaned against him, barely controlling the heat that threatened to rise from my skin.
I smirked, pulling my lips away from his mouth to gently trace kisses down his jaw. I
“Can’t five you a mark, unfortunately,” I murmured against his skin. “It’ll raise suspicions…”
I took a step backwards and pushed the door closed with my body, tugging him against me. My breath hitched, mind going white from sheer pleasure. “I’ll cover it with my collar….”
“Or you could heal it…” I murmured, finally sinking my teeth in his skin, nibbling it gently, enjoying the reactions I was getting out of him.
A cry tore itself loose from my lips as I arched my back against him. “I—I’ll do that—“ Pleasure flooded me until I could hardly think, hardly breathe. “K-Kaden—“
I pulled him closer, feeling his skin beat up from under my mouth.
“What do you want me to do, Andreas?” I murmured hotly. “How should I warm you up?”
Words died in my mouth, lodged in my throat. Kaden… He filled my every thought until my heart was practically pounding out his name. You’re going to be the death of me..
I finally tore my lips away from his throat, moving up to capture his lips again. I tugged on his shirt, a silent request, my skin burning. God, was he driving me insane. I could do this forever and not get tired. I could kiss him forever and would always come back for more.
I was slowly starting to fall in love with this man.
But I wasn’t quite done with him yet….
“Patience, Kaden…” I managed to murmur, though my mouth was numb from the kiss. Placing a hand in the centre of his chest. I pushed him gently away, winking. “I wanted to cuddle, remember?”
I growled, trying to pull him in another kiss.
“No, I don’t want to cuddle,” I hissed, eyes darkening. “I want you. Cuddling be damned.”
I almost caved in, crumbled to his will. But somehow, I kept myself together just enough to slip from his arms. "Aw, poor baby…"
“Andreas!” I almost groaned, reaching out to grab him again. “How dare you make me all hot and bothered and then just leave me hanging?”
"You know you love me," I breathed, inhaling shakily. God, you drive me crazy, Kaden…..
"Now come on, I have a letter from my mother that I want to read."
I growled but said nothing. I needed a cold shower now, ASAP.
Sighing, I sat down on the bed, glaring at him.
“Well?” I said rather impatiently. “Read, and then I can get what I want.”
I leaned forward to brush a teasing kiss below his jawline. "We'll see about that…."
Before he could react, I pulled the letter from my battered messenger bag, taking my sweet time.
“Damn you, Andreas…” I hissed under my breath. “You have five seconds to open the goddamn letter before I rip off your clothes.”
Fireworks exploded in the pit of my stomach. The mask of playful nonchalance shattered to pieces at my feet, exposing trembling hands and a bright red face. I couldn't open the letter fast enough.
"My dearest son," I read aloud, reaching out to lay a hand on Kaden's knee. But my eyes skimmed ahead, past an introductory paragraph……
And the whole world stopped.
