"How could I not?" He asked with a slight smile. "You walked onto my rooftop, anyone with brains could've seen that you were a gem."
"How could I not?" He asked with a slight smile. "You walked onto my rooftop, anyone with brains could've seen that you were a gem."
"A gem covered in bruises, maybe. And I'm no gem. I'm just a girl."
"You are a jewel like no other" insisted Skye,
"You need to check your vision because you're seeing something that isn't there."
"My vision is fine" said Skye, smirking a little, leaning back and flopping on the rooftop. "And I'm not going to change my opinion on that. No more than I could change my love for my siblings"
She laid next to him, staring up at the night sky with a smile. "Can't say I didn't try."
Skye gazed up at the immensely beautiful sky above them. It was clear. And they were so high up that they could see every star in the sky.
"Have you ever tried to count the stars in the sky? I've managed to get up to 500 before falling asleep."
"I think I got up to a hundred thousand once" said Skye. "But then I lost count and gave up."
"I could've probably gotten up farther but I was sleepy and was not going back to the palace unless someone dragged me back."
Skye laughed. "I probably only got as far as I did because of determination and the fact that half of me is nocturnal"
(FINALLY!!notebook was shutting me out…)
"Only half? What about the other half?" She chuckled.
"Well technically I'm only half human…." said Skye, hesitant to tell her in case it scared her off.
That sparked her curiousity. "Really? Well my question still stands, what's the other half?"
"Nebulae Wolf" said Skye simply.
"Really? That's cool! I wish I was interesting like that."
"I wouldn't call it interesting" laughed Skye, "More like a pain in the butt"
"Come on, it can't be that bad."
"It is when you find out that you're royalty to a wolfpack you know nothing about"
"Wait what?!" She was excited for him but also felt worse about herself. He was literal royalty and she was a castle reject.
"Woah Calmate!" Skye started a little when she yelled, "Look I understand how that must feel for you… but it's different among wolves… I really do like you…a lot…"
"I just don't understand why." She mumbled. "Why me? You're actual royalty and I'm a palace reject. You deserve better than me."
"I told you, I was raised on the streets. I know next to nothing about the other nebulae wolves… I don't belong there and I probably never will…." he said, "I'm the only halfblood in the entire pack, and they expect me to be the next Alpha. I can't do that…."
"You survived this long. I'm sure you'd do great." She flashed a small smile. "Don't doubt yourself like that."
"They expect me to learn the history of the pack… that's an entire liabrary of information on clans, bloodlines, and old mythology that isn't even relevant!" said Skye exasperatedly, "That's stuff that other pups learn from childhood…. I'm not up to the job. I can't lead a pack I know nothing of.."
"Hey." She lightly grabbed his jaw, turning his face to hers. "While you're behind everyone, you can do it."
Skye watched her carefully, his eyes studying hers. "I know… but it's a whole lot of stress I never asked for…"
(Sorry.. had to switch machines for my tech class…)
(Nah it's all good)
"And even then, I'll be here to help." She smiled sweetly. "We can do it together."
