(yeah we could do something with that) Sam rolled his eyes at Lata. "I fixed someone's spell, and then a storm kept me from healing myself. I'm fine." He turned, exposing a half-fixed crack in his neck without meaning to

@_sleeby_rat_

Sam groaned. "Ugh. It's a side effect of essentially being made of molten metal. I got caught in the rain. Rain cools metal."

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy exhaled and stepped away from the door, making her way to the stairs. There was a rattling noise, and she jerked to a stop next to the stairs. She could faintly pick out an aura or two, and she frowned. She slowly and silently made her way up the stairs, holding back a gasp when she heard a loud crash. She peaked from the basement, sensing auras in the next room over. Her breath caught in her throat, and her gaze shifted to her satchel, the spellbook next to it. She slowly crept over to the items and collected them in her satchel. She heard a noise nearby and jumped up, bolting out the door.

But she found herself running into something head on, and a taller man was standing there. He grabbed her forearm in a tight grip, sneering. “Let go of me! Abite!” She said sharply, and the man was thrown sharply a few meters away. There was a shout from behind her as the man groaned in pain, as she sprinted away, not following the trail this time.

Lucy stumbled through darker woods, her mind clouded by panic. She eventually found herself by the end of an old, gravel road. She sank to her knees from the exhaustion of sprinting and hugged herself tightly, squeezing her eyes shut. She couldn’t place what she was feeling. There was a mix of panic, confusion, and upset in her mind. Who were those people? How did they find her?

Closing the book, Lata stood up. She gave a look to Sam, assuming he would be going to see what was going on as well. She then, opened the door and ran towards Lucy's willow tree.

@_sleeby_rat_

Sam ran after her, small spots on his skin cracking in the after-rain cold. "Wait! You're unarmed! And you don't know where you're going!"

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy had no clue where to go. She would be completely out in the open at the willow, and she obviously couldn’t go back to her cabin. She thought about all of the important things she left there. She had her spell book, but not many ingredients for helpful spells. She dragged to her feet, tugging her dark cloak over her cold arms.

"Well I'm better armed than you! At least let me go in front of you!" Sam's palms glowed white hot, and black blades of metal appeared from the bases of his palms. "I think it's Lucy, she should be over here somewhere!" he said, pointing in the vague direction of her cabin

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy slipped her hood up and crossed the road toward the other patch of woods. After walking for a few minutes, she had no idea where she was. She had never seen this area of the woods before. She heard the sound of rushing water and walked toward it, now by the edge of a river.

@_sleeby_rat_

He turned sharply, away from the cabin. He had heard Lucy near water, which wasn't the best for him but chose to ignore it. He stomped through the brush, plants burning and sizzling in his wake

@Desvelarse pets

(Yeah, who?)

Lucy sat down on a large, stone slab. She kept the strap to her satchel around her waist for cautiousness. She hugged her knees loosely, exhaling in an exhausted manner and leaning her head against her knees.

@_sleeby_rat_

(well Sam is pan so I guess that could work lol) Sam finally got to the running water, and found Lucy sitting there. "Hey! What happened? I believe that rune should have held longer than an hour or two!"

@Desvelarse pets

(Lmao, oh lord.)

Lucy tensed at the voice, straightening her posture slightly. “The runes wouldn’t help against humans. There were men at the cabin. I don’t know what they wanted,” she explained softly, rubbing at her slightly aching forearm. The man who had grabbed onto her had a surprisingly strong grip. Then again, she did have a bit more of a fragile frame.

@_sleeby_rat_

Sam felt himself grow angry. "Those imbeciles may have been with the witch who summoned me. I'll burn them to the ground," he hissed, already turning to go look for the men

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy quickly got to her feet, looking at him nervously. “I’m coming too,” she said quickly, shifting the strap onto her shoulder.

@Painted-Iris group

Lata noticed Lucy rubbing at her arm.
"I had a feeling I might need this," she mumbled.
"Drink this. It's a mix of herbs to dull the pain," she instructed, handing the small vial to Lucy.

@_sleeby_rat_

"No, you aren't going anywhere. I'm going to torch whoever attempted to harm someone innocent and mount their burnt corpses to a metal pedestal," he said to Lucy, molten metal starting to drip from his hands

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy took the vial from Lata greatfully, giving a quick ‘thank you’ before drinking the mixture quickly. “What if you get hurt? I’m coming with you,” she responded, doing her best to match his stubbornness.

@_sleeby_rat_

"No! You mortals can stay here while I go kill whoever was responsible for the attack!" In his anger, he managed to get enough of his powers to work to form a large black broadsword covered in red-orange runes. He hefted it over his shoulders. "Stay," he hissed

@Painted-Iris group

"Stubborn…" Lata mumbled. She wanted to help. She may be mortal, but so were the men that Sam was after. Before meeting Orion, she had survived many years without anyone's help. It made her angry that she couldn't do anything, but also made her upset.
