(Do you wanna check in on Tobias and Rose?)
(Sure. Lol. What should be happening?)
(Ummmm idk. Lol.)
(Lol. Erm… Random party for some reason? Maybe someone found out that their house is empty except for the two of them?)
(But like why would they, out of all people, have a party? Maybe Rose invited a couple people over for a study group?)
(sigh We made these kids too boring. Lol. Not really, but…
Maybe the mystery boy comes over?)
(We made them well-raised, lol.
Okay. Sounds neat)
(Do you wanna start, or should I…?)
(Could you…?)
(Sure, why not?)
Rose sighed through her nose as she tapped her mechanical pencil against her lips in thought. She'd started on her homework that they were supposed to do over spring break, and it was going fairly well. Except for English… What was a predicate, again? And why did she need to know?
(Thankies!)
Tobias snored softly under a textbook laid out over his face. The cover showed World History glamorized with AP Edition below it. Clearly Tobias, snoring, was ecstatic about it. So ecstatic, he didn't hear a knock on the door.
Rose sighed and glanced over her shoulder at her bedroom door, having heard the knock at the front door.
“Tobias! Would you get the door?” she called. After not getting a response for a few moments, she huffed and set her book away before standing. When she had reached the door and opened it, she blinked in surprise.
“Oh. Hello. Can I help you?” she asked the boy at the door.
Tobias snorted softly but didn't stir, yawning faintly before shutting his eyes again. The book slipped from his face and plopped onto the floor with a smack.
The boy looked up with a tiny smile, holding a bunch of papers. "Hi! Would you be willing to take part in a–, Oh, hi, Rose!" He grinned brightly.
Rose smiled a little at the boy, though she still hadn’t gotten his name…
“Hey. Are you selling things?” she asked curiously, noticing his papers.
"Oh, yeah, for a Band fundraiser. It's for John Cormen, a food-place-thing. The food looks amazing, so I'm walking around trying to raise money for a trip we're going on in the summer," He finished with his rambles, smiling up at her.
“Oh, cool. I didn’t know you were in band,” Rose mused, nodding slowly. “Well, my parents aren’t home right now, otherwise I would go get them for you…”
"I am," The boy said woth a little smile. "It's really fun. Well, I think I'll be going, then, thanks." His smile jumped to a larger one..
(Baby lemurs are so cute~! Lol.
Sorry, the kids are watching Wild Kratts…)
Rose blinked once. “Oh, sure… Hey, have you started on any of the homework they gave us for over break?”
(Lol. I love the Wild Kratts.)
The boy paused, blinking. "Oh, yeah! My mum made me do a whole bunch of it before I left the house."
(Lol. I used to love it, but we don’t have tv at my house so I don’t really watch it. I used to watch their old show, Zaboomafoo.)
“Ah, yeah… I was working on the English assignment. I got a little stuck, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out soon,” Rose said with a shrug.
(I haven't heard of that show. Sounds… hard to spell.)
The boy perked up. "English? I can help! If you wanted to bring your stuff out here, we can work on it."
(Lol. It’s an older show… It was in when I was little-little.)
“Oh, we can work on it inside if you want,” Rose suggested with a small shrug. “I don’t want to keep you standing out here alone while I’m grabbing my things.”
(Huh. It sounded like fun. I love old cartoons. Courage the Cowardly Dog and Dexter's Laboratory will always be deep in my heart…)
"Oh, yes, that's good too!" He beamed and shifted his grip on the papers. "I could use a drink of water…"
(I loved it. Lol.)
Rose smiled a bit and nodded as she stepped away so he could come inside. “Sure. I’ll show you to the kitchen, and we can work there.”
The boy scooted into the house, looking happy to finally be able to sit down. "Thanks! I've been walking for at least a mile. And in the kitchen sounds great."
“Oh, wow… Yeah, I’m sure you must be tired. And thank you. I’ll be sure to let my parents know you like it,” Rose said as she walked toward a cupboard to grab a glass. She filled it with water before handing it to…
Again, she realized that she didn’t actually know his name. That could get to be a problem if they kept running into each other…
“Um… So, I don’t think I ever got your name,” she admitted awkwardly, rubbing her wrists as she looked at the glass of water.
(Honk)
"I'm not really that tired," The boy said with a tone of happiness in his voice as he set down his papers, looking around and spotting the still-sleeping Tobias. He glanced back at Rose when she turned to him, grinning.
"Oh, my name's Allen Dweis. It's a pleasure to meet you! Thank you." He took the cup and gulped down a few mouthfuls.
(Honk?
Oh… I’ll fix it in a sec…)
“Well, it’s good to officially meet you, Allen,” Rose said with a small smile. She nodded toward the stairs and stepped in their direction. “I’m just going to go grab my things. I’ll be back in a second.”
(Lmao honk
How are you doing?)
Allen smiled back and a bit of water dribbled from out between his crooked teeth. He squeaked softly and hastily rubbed at his chin. He secretly felt glad her back was turned and hoped she didn't see.
"Al-Alright!"
