“Uh…. I’m Finn…. I’m 15, almost 16. My family runs the school.” Finn said, unsure of her intentions.

"Don't be nervous, sweet. I'm Abbie. 16. From Arkansaw. Your family owns the school?" She cocked her head.

“Yeah…” Finn replied.

"Hm. You'll have to show me around. When is this class over?"

“We got a few minutes.”

"Okay. Aaaand, what comes after that?"

“We have a library break.”

"Ooh!"

"Hey." She told the new girl before going back to her laptop. Jayde, sat back and watched the interaction, which seemed slightly uncomfortable for Finn. She slowly took Finn's sketchbook while he wasn't using it so she could copy the design onto her computer. She added a few decorations to the outside part that they could add when they were done before using the ruler on her app to see the width and height of the house. "Hey, Finn, can you tell me what your using and the recipe for the gingerbread."

"Jayde. Tell me more about you, too."

“Can I just text it to you?” Finn asked, avoiding eye contact with the new girl

"Yea." Jayde said, answering Finn before turning her attention to Abbie. "Well, I too am in the eleventh grade and I have a sibling." She said, revealing only a bit about herself. She wasn't one to tell a lot about herself and skipped through the details.

Finn immediately sighed, and said, “What’s your number?”

"987-654-3210" She told him before pulling her phone out to see if he got it right.

Finn sent her the recipe, before returning to what he was doing.

Jayde sent the recipe over to her laptop so that she could record what they were making it out of. "Abbie, have you ever made one of these before?"

Finn turned to Abbie curiously, wondering the same thing.

"I can't say I have," Abbie smiled.

"Welp, I guess we'll have to rely on Google for the other parts then."

Finn nodded and said, “I remember how to do some of it.”

"Great that's even better, although we may need the ingredients for the other things that aren't gingerbread."

(This will probably be my last post, but something just happened to a family member, and it wasn’t a good thing.)

(Hey. I hope you're okay– And, of course, the family member. I'm praying for you. Take your time returning.)

"I guess so." Abbie watched Finn get up and suddenly rush out of the room after seeing a message on his phone. "Should we… Follow him?"

"I don't know." She said, leaning over to look out the door in the direction he was going before rubbing her neck. "I think we should."

"Or…" Abbie glanced at the clock. "Maybe not. He'll probably be back next period."

"Okay," Jayde said agreeing with her. She went back to her laptop before looking up to Abbie. "I guess you can help on the ingredients for the other things we're gonna add to the gingerbread house."
