“You hate green? I love it.”
“You hate green? I love it.”
"Well I like the color red." He said smugly. "That's a lie. I hate it. My favorite color is…actually, I'm not telling."
“Why? Big secret?”
(What’s his favourite colour?)
(lavender…but he thinks it's way too sensitive)
"Yeah. You've learned enough about me for one day."
(Awww, little Cady likes lavender. Adorable.
I’m sorry. >.>)
Harper stared at the flier. "QUUUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She shouted loudly. "You really need to see this!"
She smirked. “Whatever you say, Locky.”
Cade rolled his eyes at her, lying back down on the ground and spreading his arms and legs out.
Crickets chirped, the night air cool on her skin. “What’s your family like?”
"My family? They're a hoot." Cade chuckled. "Well I live with my parents and three younger siblings: my brother and twin sisters. My brother's name is Ryan and my sisters are Ella and Ivy. Ryan is pretty shy, and also kind of dumb. Ella is extremely talkative and sassy, and Ivy is a pain but she's really smart." He looked over at the princess. "What about you? Do you have any family other than the Queen?"
Chelsea fell asleep, head on the couch. Her bleeding palms staining the couch. Today was eventful, crying drains energy. How vulnerable. How peaceful. How quiet.
She fell silent for a moment. “I— I don’t know who my dad is, only Alice knew that. I—“ She choked. “I had a baby brother, with an unknown father, but Alice— she ate him. Served him for dinner.” There were tears in her eyes.
"Oh…" Stupid [f word]. You knew that she didn't have anyone else. Cade stood up and walked over to her, leaning against the wall. "Sorry for asking."
“You didn’t know, it’s okay.”, she said softly. “He was named Harry, in case you care.”
(plot twist, her brother is Harry Potter and Lily and James don't exist)
Cade smiled, for once dropping the act and being polite. "I do care." An idea sparked in his mind.
(Lol)
(the scar is from the Queen's blade or her teeth)
(Lol)
“Then thanks. For caring.” She averted her eyes, willing the tears not to spill over.
"No problem." Cade crossed his arms, adjusting his position against the wall so the rock wasn't digging into his back.
(What was his idea?)
Scarlet drew in a breath. “I’m thinking of changing my name.”
(that his mom would have a boy and he would suggest the name Harry)
(Aww)
He tilted his head as he looked at her. "Why?"
“Because ‘Scarlet’ reminds me too much of blood.” She shuddered. “Maybe something like… Corinne. Or Alma.”
Cade shrugged. "Go ahead. Scarlet's nice though."
Scarlet inhaled slowly. “I guess..” She tugged on her necklace, a little golden bird.
"Scarlet reminds me of…silk. The name feels…soft and gentle. I dunno, I sound crazy." Cade looked at her necklace. "What's that?"
