"I have math up first. I don't do well in it, nor do I like it." It was a simple answer, but there was obviously more to it.
"I have math up first. I don't do well in it, nor do I like it." It was a simple answer, but there was obviously more to it.
"I-I could help you," she suggested quietly.
((My girl has dyscalculia rip
Kai thought for a moment before nodding. "Sure. That might help."
She turned around quickly. "R-Really?"
"Yeah. Unless you were just offering to be polite. Then forget I said anything." The smallest flicker of uncertainty showed on her face before disappearing.
"No, I… uh, s-sorry…" She turned around again and finished getting her books. Dammit, Laura, why'd you say that?
"I guess…I'd just appreciate any help I could get." Kai started down the hall, at a slow enough pace for Laura to follow, looking back to make sure she was coming.
Laura quickly shut her locker and hurried after Kai. "if you want, I-I could help you at band practice today…"
"I'd like that. You sure?"
"Yes. If- If you are," she replied, holding her books against her chest.
"It'll be a pain in the ass, I'll warn you.' Kai stated, matching Laura's pace.
"I've experienced worse," she said, half to herself.
"Mmm." Was Kai's only response. You could just tell her. Or I could not.
Laura brushed her hair over her face more and looked up just in time to catch that she almost walked right by her class. "Oh, this is my class," she said quietly.
Kai held the door for Laura, a hint of a smile on her face. "'Twas a pleasure, m'lady."
Laura blushed and walked in.
"Bonjour, Laura," the teacher greeted her.
"Bonjour, Madmoiselle Bustier," Laura replied, looking over her shoulder at Kai once more with a small smile before she took her seat.
Kai waved, and shot a wink at the teacher. "On devrait t’arrêter pour excès de beauté sur la voie publique." And then she was gone, back down the hall.
Laura turned pink and sat down quickly.
(Skip?)
((uh sure?
(Just, like, to lunch or something.)
((sure, i assume i'm doing it
Kai plopped down at the band's usual table, resting her head in her arms and dozing off.
Laura slowly approached. "Kai? Tu es réveillé?"
"No." She replied, not lifting her head.
She smiled a little and sat down beside her. "Okay."
"How's your day been? That asshole from before give ya any more trouble?"
"No, s-she didn't," Laura said quietly.
"Good. Imma kick her ass." Her voice was muffled by her arms.
"No, please don't," Laura said quietly.
"Why not?"
"Because I don't want you to," she said quietly.
