"Alright," She called, shutting the door and taking her clothes off, she set them neatly to the side and smiled as she sank into the tub.
"Alright," She called, shutting the door and taking her clothes off, she set them neatly to the side and smiled as she sank into the tub.
Miles let out a long breath when she was out of earshot. What the hell am I supposed to do with her?…. He closed his eyes and furrowed his brow, irritated. Just…. Let her say that without having intentions?… He shook his head. Oh no no no…. I'm gonna break those boundaries eventually whether she wants me to or not….
She sighed slightly and closed her eyes, realizing how long it had been since she'd had a warm bath. She smiled and splashed the water around with her hands, acting almost like a little kid.
Miles finished cooking up the soup and let it sit on the fire for a bit. He glanced out a window and cursed inwardly at himself. Tonight is one of those nights, isn't it….? He put both hands on his face and groaned relentlessly. Tonight's the night of my death…
Emmeline dunked her head under the water and washed her hair, humming slightly. She sat in the water for a little longer before draining it and stepping out. She grabbed a town and dried off before throwing her clothes back on.
(Lol I think it’s hard to dry yourself off with a town, Emmiline X3)
He shook his head. It looks like I’ll be spending the night in the shed…. Miles halfheartedly stirred the soup in the pot. But…. I will be honest, who else knows what I am? I don’t think anyone can trace werewolves in human beings all too well, and since I actually have a brain while I’m in transformation… I could practically get away with it.
(XDXDXD ya that would be difficult)
She ruffled her hair up with the towel and opened the door, walking to his room and sitting down on her bed. She dried her hair off again before walking to the kitchen, leaving the towel on her bed. "How's it going?" She asked with a smile.
“It’s…. alright….” He took the pot off the stove and extinguished the oven’s fire. “I’ll be sleeping in the shed tonight, so don’t be surprised.” Miles served up the soup in a clean bowl and handed it to her. “Unless you have some unfathomable amount of pity for whatever reason….”
She took the bowl thankfully and nodded, "I mean, I can bring you out a blanket like normal," she started eating and smiled, "This is pretty good."
"Thank you," He responded wholly as he took a serving for himself. Not that I'll be cold or anything…. Miles otherwise didn't say anything as he absentmindedly began to eat, staring off into space.
Emmeline focused on eating, humming slightly as she finished her soup and put her bowl into the bucket to be cleaned.
Miles finished his soup slowly, letting the dish slide dully off his hand and into the bucket carefully. He was still seated on the floor next to the stove, and he put his face in his hands. I would do that but I have no idea what kind of stuff I'm puttin' at risk….
"You ok Miles?" She asked softly, standing up and walking over to him when she saw him put his face in his hands. She touched his shoulder lightly and looked down at him.
"I'm…. Fine." He grumbled, shifting a little restlessly. I'm debating whether tonight I'll go out and take advantage of this, or is it just absolutely too risky…. Miles growled and sighed. I don't know what I'm doing….
She nodded, "Alright," she took her hand off of his shoulder and smiled lightly at him before heading to his room and laying down on her bed.
Damn I'm never fine…. He shot up and headed outside, where the sky was darkening as it neared nighttime. ….Why didn't she just leave like she wanted? I feel like she's just trying to play with me…. He went and sat on the wood chopping stump, waiting for his body to take the transformation.
Emmeline realized she had to give him a blanket for the night and she sat up, grabbing one and folding it up nicely before heading outside. She held it in her arms and looked around for him, seeing him on the stump, "Before I forget, here's this." She said, walking over to him and holding out out.
"Thanks," He muttered halfheartedly, setting it down on his lap before continuing to sit there for a bit
After a while – once he was the wolf he'd been waiting on – he headed into the shed with the blanket, sitting on his 'comfy' pile of straw pillows and crying. I'm so hopeless…. This shed can't protect me from anything besides a line of a hunter's sight.
He lied down, sobbing into his paws.
Emmeline headed back inside, sighing softly. She thought about how vulnerable Miles was right now and she silently promised herself that she would do her absolute best to keep him safe, even saying that she was the werewolf so they would leave him alone. She sat down at the table in the kitchen and shook her head, listening for any sign of the hunters.
Miles covered his snout miserably. This is no way to live a normal life…. He closed his eyes, letting tears leak out. I shouldn't be here… Where should I be then? They always think that werewolves live out in the middle of nowhere…. His ears twitched. Maybe I should go in the morning. Leave this all behind…. Start fresh… Find a place where no one can find me.
(I kinda want the hunters to come and for somethin to happen, idk)
She sighed again and walked to his room, laying down on her bed quietly. She closed her eyes lightly and rolled on her side but didn't fall asleep.
(Hyeyych I have kinda sorta another idea…)
Miles growled as he slowly cried himself to a light sleep.
He was unaware that some people had been watching from afar in the woods, with everything ready – their crossbows loaded and in hand, but the other had a bear trap.
"I knew that guy was always up to something…." One sneered.
"True. People always said that werewolves were breaking into their homes… But most wouldn't even have enough brains to know what a house looked like." He frowned.
"So…. What's the plan?"
"Set a trap on both sides of the door…. But cover it in grass. And watch out for that other lady that was out giving him a blanket earlier…. Who knows what kind of shenannigans she has up her sleeve…."
(oke)
Emmeline hummed to herself lightly, trying to fall asleep. She rolled onto her stomach and pressed her eyes shut as tight as she could, supprised that she was actually drifting off to sleep.
(Oh – oh–oh noes)
The guy (I'll give him a name later) tip toed over to the shed, passing quickly by the windows of the cabin and to the shed. He kept the traps still and refrained from letting the chains rattle around.
Once he was there, he put the traps on both sides of the door, staking them into the ground with merely his hands. He opened them up, leaving almost no space to step out of the shed without setting a trap off – with one's foot.
He covered it with some grass he got, hiding them well. Perfect…. He went around the back of the cabin and managed to return to his friend, who was still in the woods.
"Are you gonna shoot this one?" He asked.
"Nah… We'll let him suffer as much as that trap will let him before I put him out of his misery…"
Miles rolled around in his sleep. Damn I really have to go…. He whined. I can't go in here…. It'll just…. Smell bad!!!
Emmeline shifted again, obviously having a nightmare. She shook slightly and pressed her eyes shut tighter, pulling her legs up to her chest.
Miles finally got up, sick of holding it in. I can't take it anymore!!! He whined and yanked the door open, totally unaware of the traps.
One of them caught him by the ankle, and the jaws snapped.
He let out a roar, feeling his bones and muscles sting as the trap dug unger his fur and skin. Wh-WHAT THE HELL!!?
Emmeline's eyes flew open as she heard a roar from outside, causing her to jump out of bed and run to the door. "Miles?" She called, running towards the shed and him, her heart racing.
Miles couldn't keep calm. He was so scrambled in his mind that he tore the trap stake from the ground and took off. Even though he was limping, and even though he had an extra 10 pounds on his ankle, he was still very fast.
He ran into the woods and far away off to a river, collapsing from exhaustion. The pain…. Screw those hunters, screw everybody!!– even myself… He cried.
She watched him run off and she sighed, "Miles," she called louder, hesitating slightly and thinking about grabbing the blanket. She shook her head and just took off into the woods, trying to figure out where he went.
Miles collapsed, breathing heavily. I can't believe I thought I was safe… He bent his ears back in frustration of himself. Everything…. It's just a lie…. No one's safe from anything… Anything at all….
He was in an immense pain, his ankle burning and loosing lots of blood. Those hunters are after me, I'm sure… Following my trail… He let out a suppressed breath.
