“That sounds perfect,” Barry answered softly. “Do you want to order an appetizer?”
“That sounds perfect,” Barry answered softly. “Do you want to order an appetizer?”
"No, love, I think that'll be enough food," Kasey said with a light laugh. "But thanks."
A waitress came by to ask for their order, which Barry faithfully relayed to her. His eyes flickered sideways—Would Kasey notice if he slipped in an extra word? He hoped not…
When his girlfriend's head was turned in the opposite direction, he beckoned to the waitress. "I talked to someone on the phone," he whispered, "Special Occasion planned under the name of Barry Lawrence." The waitress smiled, and was gone."
Kasey looked around the room for a moment longer before turning back to Barry with a grin. “I’m excited to dance. We’re we going to do that while we waited for our food or after we ate?”
"While we wait," he answered smoothly and stood, offering a hand. "May I have this dance?~"
“This dance and every one after,” Kasey laughed lightly, taking his hand elegantly as she stood.
"You really are the most beautiful person here.." he murmured, brushing his lips against her temples. "I bet every single man in here is jealous me… because I'm holding your hand."
Kasey blushed a little again, rolling her eyes as if trying to shake off the flusteredness from his compliment.
“And I’m sure all the girls are jealous of me, simply because I’m the one standing beside you instead of them,” she murmured back.
"You're delusional," he teased right back, "Gorgeous and amazing, but delusional."
“I’m delusional? Love, you’re the most attractive man here,” Kasey chuckled a little. “If anything, you’re the delusional one.”
Barry scoffed playfully, weaving between tables as they went. "Lies."
"I thought we established this already? We both think the other is the most attractive person," Kasey stated, gently squeezing the arm she was holding onto.
"Mm, I'm still right~" Barry teased. They went around a wall separating the doorway from the tables…. and music hit their ears.
Kasey grinned as she heard the music, and she dragged Barry further in. "C'mon, c'mon. Dance with me," she laughed.
"Yes, love," he chuckled, "Of course."
Kasey grinned, moving in front of him. She kept one of her hands holding his and wrapped the other around his neck. "Remember the dance in the kitchen?"
Barry settled a hand on the curve of her waist, a smile tugging at his lips. “Of course~”
"That's one of my favorite memories," Kasey mused softly. "It was just so… Oh, I don't even have words for it…"
Barry bowed his head to press a kiss to her mouth. “Hopefully, this night will be just as memorable.”
"It already has been," Kasey replied softly before kissing him back for a moment.
Barry’s lips curved against hers. “Just you wait…”
The music carried them along, slow, melodious, and tender. A dozen beautifully dressed nowan spun by, but Barry only had eyes for Kasey.
Kasey smiled a little and pulled back to kiss his cheek. “I love you, Barry,” she murmured softly.
Barry wound both arms around her waist. “I love you more~”
“I’m pretty sure that’s not possible,” Kasey teased lightly, clasping her hands together around his neck now that he’d released her other one.
“Of course it is!” He pretended to be offended. “I’m living proof.”
“Mm… But I love you the most,” Kasey protested with a grin.
Barry raised an eyebrow. “You’re quoting Tangled again?”
Kasey laughed. “I honestly don’t think I’ve ever purposely quoted movies at you, love. Unless it was ‘as you wish’ from The Princess Bride…”
“You sure?” I chuckled, pecking her on the lips.
(Lol. You used first person.)
“I’m sure,” Kasey laughed gently, smiling at the kiss. “You’re such a goofball…”
