Ashley's POV:

I smiled over at him before he pulled into my parents' driveway. When he parked, I unbuckled, leaned over to kiss him softly, and climbed out.

"All right, babe. Let's go inside so I can get out of these heels," I said with a soft chuckle.

Lucas's POV:

I linked our fingers together and soon we were inside. Ashley had changed, and now we were on her bed, talking.

"Don't tell uncle Archie I said this, but…" I started slowly. "I don't think his son plans parties very well. Not as well as my father does."

Ashley’s POV:

I laughed softly and curled up closer to him. “I’d have to agree, actually. Your dad is the best at party planning. Especially when Mama Kenzie helps.”

I grinned, pulling her closer.

“That’s true,” I kissed her nose. “My mom and dad make the best team ever. Sometimes I wonder if our lives would have been different had my father accepted the President position.”

“Different how? What do you think it would be like?” I wondered, scrunching up my nose at the kiss before doing the same to him.

Lucas’s POV:

“I don’t know—I’m just wondering,” I laughed when she kissed my nose. “In the end, I decide things wouldn’t be different at all.”

Ashley’s POV:

I smiled at the laugh I’d earned just by kissing his nose and decided to pepper his face in light kisses. “That’s good,” I murmured between soft pecks.

Lucas’s POV:

I pulled her on top of me, chuckling softly as she left small kisses on my face.

“You’re adorable, you know that, right?” I grinned, my eyes closed. “Permission to kiss you again?”

Ashley’s POV:

I giggled a little as I was pulled on top of him and kissed his nose one last time. “Permission granted, my love.”

Lucas’s POV:

I closed the distance between our lips, pulling her close to me.

Ashley’s POV:

I hummed contentedly into the kiss, pressing back. It was nice to just have a soft, casual kiss like this every once in a while…
