"I'm bored, Starr. Trapped in a seemingly endless repetitive cycle and it's driving me nuts!"

She rolled her eyes. "You're telling me! We're high school seniors, and I've wanted to leave this little town since grade school!"

"So let's do it! We'll-we'll go…to New York!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands up.

"No airplane," she said firmly. "I want to see everything!"

"We'll take my car." Damian grinned, holding up his car keys and jingling them. "We can pack essentials, toss 'em in back, and leave."

"Yes!" she cried excitedly. "We're going to see the world, Dam!"

Damian hoped back over the counter, despite the fact that he was two feet from the little gate, because he's a dramatic fuck. "When should we leave?"

"Tomorrow?" she asked, a mischievous glitter in her eyes.

"I'll be at your house bright and early."

She grinned. "Deal! Now let's get home and eat something that will keep my stomach from digesting itself."

"Alright, alright! I still don't understand your problem with the food here." He rolled his eyes, smiling as he grabbed his jacket.

"False: I don't have a problem with all the food here. Truth: the fries taste like rubber, you have to admit."

"No they don't, they taste like fries!"

"RUH-BUR."

"Fries!" Damian exclaimed, holding open the door for Starr as he dug through his pocket for the keys. The keys that were in his other hand.

She plucked the keys from his hand and did the job. "You can't chew them!"

"You can! You just have to use a certain technique!"

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, no…"

"You just can't appreciate good food." He huffed, tugging on his jacket.

"I can… when it's really food!" she retorted.

Damian shook his head, making his way across the parking lot. "It is food."

"No it's not!" she insisted.

"There's literally nothing you can say to change my mind, Starr."

"And I could say the same to you!" she declared, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

"You're so stubborn." Damian shook his head, chuckling.

"Merci. Beaucoup!" she said firmly.

He rolled his eyes. "We could literally argue about this all night, but you're hungry, and need to get sleep."

She faced him with a smirk. "We're getting out of this crummy little town tomorrow morning. I'm not going to be able to sleep.

"You're gonna want to, trust me. With how loud I'll be blasting music, there'll be no rest for you. Now come on, I gotta check what all is in my savings."

"Let's take everything we got out," she suggested, a wild look in her eyes. It was unbridled freedom.
