Reed felt slightly awkward listening to the conversation, so attempted to tune it out, and failed miserably.
Oh nevermind that said Romero calmly, So who might you be? she turned her question to Reed.
“My name’s Reed.” He introduced himself.
Pleased to meet you. the she wolf bowed mid stride.
“Back atcha.”
Romero grinned, before letting out a playful bark and pulling ahead.
Skye tensed at that, I suggest you hang on… I'm gonna have to take some shortcuts to keep up with her! he said as he increased his pace.
(So quick explanation. A half wolf (Skye) has more stamina and endurance than a human, but less than a trueblood wolf. (Romero)
A trueblood wolf, (unless they're really young, hurt, or out of shape) Can easily outrun a halfblood any day of the week.
And Romero just challenged Skye to a race…)
“Um, ok.” Reed said, tightening his grip a bit.
Skye suddenly leaped to his fastest pace, just barely keeping up with Romero, who clearly wasn't pushing it.
Romero suddenly sped up You know you can't keep up brother! she laughed,
Hang on Reed Skye gritted his teeth as his amulet began to glow, "Portalis!" he warped up next to Romero,
Is that not cheating? Reed wondered.
"Oh sure!" said Romero aloud, "Need portalis magic to keep up do you?, betcha can't top this! She suddenly portaled a ways ahead,
Reed stifled a laugh. “Can you top that?”
Don't make me laugh said Skye confidently, suddenly warping up next to her, and summoning a bolt of power, "Extrellias!" suddenly a collar of silvery blue-green metal appeared around her neck,
Skye!! her tone was angry,
Can't have you outrunning me! said Skye, proceeding to warp ahead.
ok, now that can’t possibly be fair. Reed thought.
Its not a fair race to begin with said Skye. I physically can't out run her because she's full blood
Reed just shook his head.
Romero caught up with him easily. thought blocking my magic would stop me??
Oh good she’s back. Reed thought sarcastically.
not for long! said Skye, dashing off into the trees, slowing a little as he gasped for breath.
Oh good she’s gone. Ahead of him. Good.
Skye suddenly gasped as he saw Romero pull up in front of him, gaping as they loped up the cliff tops. Finally making it up there, Skye stopped, gasping for breath glaring at Romero as the collar vanished.
Reed raised his eyebrows, still kind of uncertain about the entire situation.
"Could you… get of for a moment.." said Skye, still panting, almost quavering, as Romero pranced around him triumphantly.
Reed quickly got off, watching Skye with concern.
Skye immediately shifted and lept for Romero, taking her by surprise. "I'm not getting off" he said with an evil smirk.
Reed rolled his eyes. Of course. he thought.
Romero growled, "you have no right!"
"Big brother rules say I do" said Skye. "And as your alpha I'm asking you to stop humiliating me in front of my siblings!"
Reed was tuned out by now, wondering whether Jack and Anna were up by now.

Romero growled and submitted. Than Skye dismounted, scratching behind her ears, making her whimper in bliss.
It dawned on Reed that if they were awake, they would likely be worried about him. Well, Jack probably would be. He wasn’t sure that Anna had really forgiven him. Maybe she had? Probably not.
