Bianca sat by the water, taking in big gulps using her hands as a cup. "This is nice"
"Yeah, except how safe is drinking that without a purifier?" Allison asked as she used some to clean her jeans.
Shiza stood away from the river not wanting to accidentally freeze the water. Sitting down and leaning against a tree after a few moments she closed her eyes
Flory hopped down and squatted down next to the river. “Yeah. Wouldn’t drink that if I were you.”
"I drink water from all over, and I'm not dead." She shrugged. "Also I'm really thirsty soooo"
After a moment everyone could hear Shizas loud snoring
"Shiza's out of commission once again."
“I wonder if she needs to sleep because of the ice thing?”
"Maybe. I can see how that would require energy renewal." She said, looking over at Shiza.
"Lazy," Flory scoffed. "Anyway… I've been thinking. I have those needles and those scars on my legs look an awful lot like they could be caused by needles. And with those cards… I think I gambled a lot. And maybe instead of earning money, the loser get stabbed by a needle. So instead of the loser getting rewarded, the loser gets punished. And I don't know how to feel about that."
"That's…a strange way to play cards."
Bianca propped herself up with her elbows and looked at the sky. “I think we all come from somewhere strange.”
Flopping over Shiza landed in a bush with a quiet "oof". She began snoring again with a slight shiver here and there
"Hmph." Was Allison's only response as she relight the cigarette from earlier.
Corbyn glanced over at Shiza for a moment before returning his attention back to the group. The notebook sat in his lap, where he was previously flipping through it.
“Oh, what’s that say? We we’re a little too busy earlier to read it.” Bianca said
Shiza's finger twitched before she snorted and curled up in an uncomfortable looking position. She was being poked by the twigs of the branches
Kyle had moved to be on his own for a while, and he flipped through the notebook that he found in his bag. Apparently, he–or someone else, there was really no way to tell for sure that it was his notebook–was a pretty good artist. His style resembled some anime, and it appeared that he drew a mixture of superpowered and non-superpowered characters. He noticed that a few pages had been torn out in some places. Could whoever brought them here have thought they'd be big clues to his past?
Finally waking up shiza grumbled standing up “hecken ice making me shiver”. Wandering off for a bit she looked around
“Notes on the creatures, I’m guessing,” Corbyn flipped another page. “And some science problems I’m probably too dumb to understand.” All the numbers seemed t swirl around on the page, and with a huff of frustration he closed the notebook.
Out of sight shiza shook herself and sighed. Beginning to practice her ice again she wanted to build up a resistance to the cold.
"Toss it here. We can pass it around and see if any of us can make some sense of it." Allison suggested.
Bianca frowns. “Yeah, Okay.”
Shiza was still away from the group practicing and shivering still building up her resistance. Mumbling to herself about why she’s doing this she snorted
Bianca lay back in the dirt, and did some hardcore cloud watching. She noticed something weird though, the sun seemed to be missing a piece. Like a pac-man. She shook her head, and looked again.
( here’s a little explanation for y’all. the sun is a timer. If they don’t escape by the end of the timer, the portal back to their homelands will close. They have to make it through all 7 levels.
Corbyn tossed the notebook to Allison, it landing perfectly in her lap. "There you go,"
((Oh shit
Allison picked it up, exhaling a cloud of smoke as she flipped through it.
Bianca moves over to sit by Allison. “What does it say? And did you notice the sun is falling apart?”
Allison looked up. "Not sure what it's about yet, but does that look kind of like a clock?"
“Maybe a little.” Bianca wrinkled her nose. “I wonder what happens when it runs out.”
Suddenly, there was a loud, crashing noise from behind them. Something big was coming, and fast. The group turned toward the noise and gasped with surprise- a massive wall of water was rushing towards them, knocking down everything in it’s path.
