Get rid of them. They cause more problems than fix them.

Maybe not get rid, but make it way harder for anyone to get them. But I agree that they cause more problems than fixing them

sure, but guns also take innocent children's lives in school shootings and mass shootings all of the time. I don't want to have to live in a country where my school has to participate in an active shooter drill twice a year. I don't want to have to automatically search for emergency exits every time I enter a building or a place I've never been before because I'm terrified that something dangerous might happen. I don't want to feel the need to come up with an escape plan at my school because I'm terrified that a student might get their hands on a gun and bring it to school.
Of course, I believe in an American's right to own a gun because of the constitution, but I also believe this needs to have very strict limitations due to how advanced guns have become.

Guns should be legal but with strict regulation. Japan actually has a really impressive stance on gun control that I think the US should consider copying.

Not to mention my school has recently suffered under a shooter threat. We live in a community where kids actually have the firepower to do it, since we live in a more rural area. Which made me have to think what I would do if something like this happened. I was told by my own father to just get out. Push people in front of me if I were in the risk of getting shot. Has that ever happened to you?

Same here. This kid actually got expelled and almost went to jail bc of a joking shooter threat, but we all took it seriously because she had access to guns (everybody does around here because we also live in a very rural area). In our school, the shooter drill was thankfully changed, so for our drill we're supposed to listen to an announcement that tells us where the shooter is, where they're going, and what they look like, then we quickly choose the safest exit and run (or hide if the shooter is too close)

I know that it may be scary but it is good that schools are doing these kind of drills. I'd rather people be prepared for the worst then not have any preparation at all and suffer as many have done.
No one blames an earthquake for killing people and yet we still do the drills. Same with fire. Flash floods. Tornado. Bombs.

I agree there, it’s not the gun’s fault. When my little sister got angry and stabbed my arm with a pencil, was it her fault or the pencil’s?
