She opened her mouth to speak, then closed it again. "I'm not sure."
She opened her mouth to speak, then closed it again. "I'm not sure."
"Understandable," John murmured.
"How can you tell what they are?" she asked softly.
"You catch glimpses of the shapes," he spoke, "And your imagination fills the rest in," a gentle smile rest on his features.
"I'm not very good at imagining things." Like imagining you're not married…
He set his empty wine glass down, "It comes with practice,"
"I'll need to practice a lot," she said thoughtfully.
"Well, do you know how to play an instrument?" John asked.
She blushed. "No…"
"I can play a few," he smiled. "The piano, the flute, the violin,"
"Brave and talented," she mused.
He laughed flatteredly, a rosy blush resting on his cheeks. "It's only because I was born into a wealthy family,"
"My father owns this place," she said, motioning to the building.
"Ah," John stood up with a soft grunt. He lifted his arms to stretch.
Mirelle admired him while he wasn't looking. Stop it! You can't have sex with a married man! She hated it, but a little voice inside of her whispered, You already did!
He let his arms down, looking towards the painting over the mantle as he thought. Well, the little devil spoke in Murielle's head, there were alternatives to that.
"Thank you for dinner," John spoke.
"You're welcome," she said, trying to ignore the thoughts.
"I'll letter you when I can. Just to make sure you're okay," John spoke. He just couldn't leave a lady in the dust. Even if she had taken advantage of him– but she didn't know. He couldn't blame her for it. It was just an.. just a simple accident and nothing more.
"Alright, that sounds fine," she said with a polite smile.
He dipped his head, and meandered to the door. He gave her one more wish for a good evening, and left.
Skip?)
(Jane/Chadine/Simcoe?)
Sure!)
(How should it start?)
Chadine sat at Jane's bedside. Jane had come down with the cold, and Chadine was loyally attending to her every need. Simcoe would come by very frequently in the doorway to stare. Chadine did her best to ignore him.
(Like that. Okay!)
Jane coughed. "Chadine, please rest," she murmured.
"No," was all she replied with. Fitting… John knew how stubborn Jane could be. He was smart to send an equally stubborn woman to care for Jane. "I won't leave until you get some rest, Jane,"
"Chadine, please," Jane repeated. "Get some sleep."
"Yes, Chadine." Simcoe spoke from the hallway. "Let me take care of her, for a little while."
Chadine gave Jane a bit of a glare for giving Simcoe the idea.
She coughed. "I promise to sleep if you promise as well."
"thank you," Bailey smiled
George shrugged, clearly a little embarrassed.
