"Baby, please!" he begged.

Raven screamed once more, shooting a circle of magic out that was unavoidable.

Conner fell from the sky and hit the ground, knocked unconscious by the blast.

Raven let out another scream and suddenly the thing in her head was gone. Her eyes closed on their own accord and she started to fall. She missed the building that Connor landed on and continued to fall, wings whipping around her.

Conner laid there like slug – it was his only defense.
(It's A Christmas Story reference… XD)

Raven continued to fall. Her wings failed yo catch her, and her hair whipped around her face.

Slowly, his eyes opened. A ragged breath seized his lungs and he yelled, "RAVEN!"

She fell.

He moved to the edge of the building and reached a hand out to use his powers as a way to stop her fall.

He managed to stop her close to the ground, her wings hitting the ground with a sickening crack. Her body hung lifelessly a few inches from the ground.

"RAVEN!" he screamed.

She hung there, not moving. Her wings were broken from the impact, and she'd narrowly avoided being killed from a head injury.

He slowly lowered her onto the ground. "I'm coming, babe!" he yelled and quickly descended through the building.

Raven lay on the ground, not moving. Her breath was shallow and ragged.

He reached her and gently, carefully, took her in his arms. "Raven?" he whispered, tears threatening his vision.

Her breath was ragged and shallow. She was barely clinging to life.

Slowly, he used his power to transfer whatever life he could out of his to her.

Raven was still.

He tried harder. More of his life was sent to her. "Raven… baby, please…"

She didn't move, unconscious.

He pressed his lips to hers lightly. He showered her face and neck with kisses. "Raven," he mumbled. "Raven, please."

Raven's left pinkie finger twitched. It was a blink and you'll miss it twitch.

Conner didn't notice. He was too busy kissing her. "Raven… Raven… Raven…"

Slowly, the rest of her fingers started to twitch, then her whole hand.

He felt it against his leg and gasped. "Oh Raven, please come back."

Her other hand started to twitch as well.

He grasped her hand tightly and transferred his power through them. He didn't care if he lived or died, he just wanted her to survive.

She started to move. It was barely, but she started to move.

He sent more. More. His head started to feel fuzzy, but he concentrated on her.

Raven's eyes suddenly shot open and she took a gasping breath.
