(I'm currently sitting on a super high stool at my desk in an oversized hoodie and it's really early and I got virtually no sleep last night but who needs sleep anyway? I mean at least this early in the morning all my ideas are accessible vs. other parts of the day when they're all running around and there's a bunch of noise and I can't concentrate and……………..now I'm rambling…lol)
"You are welcome." Kanoa clasped her hands behind her back, strands of hair going into her mouth as Pauka tried to make her eat her own hair. She flushed red and swatted Pauka away, taking a few steps backward and setting him down on the floor. "Stay."
Josh laughed, a bright grin on his face. "I've always loved seeing other people's pets. Maybe it's because I never had one of my own…How long have you had Pauka for?"
"Ever since I was 12. My step-ma took me on an expedition to find my own familiar and that's where we found Pauka. He was so miserable, the poor thing, cooped up in a cage where children poked at him."
Pauka climbed up her shoulder, resting his head on top of her's. "Familiars help with magic, but so far Pauka's just been a companion. I'm sure his magical ability will shine through, though!" Kanoa brightened, smile wide and cheerful.
"That's awesome!" Josh beamed. "I think I heard about familiars through one of the scientists here, but I never knew how it worked. Does magic run in your family?" Josh had forgotten about his lunch, which had started to grow cold. Suddenly remembering it, he turned around and whisked the tray off of the counter. Walking over to a nearby table, he sat at it and pulled out a seat for Kanoa. "Here, we can sit and talk." He giggled lightly. "So yeah, does potion magic run in your family? Like, is in an inherited power, or were you "blessed" with it? I've never heard of inherited powers, but then again most people I know have super powers, or powers that mutated their body–like all of these guys with wings. I've never met someone with potion magic before." Stopping his rambling was easier this time because Josh had food in front of him now. He ate his food while he listened to Kanoa's reply.
Kanoa sat down, Pauka clingiing to her back as she stared at Josh while he ate. "I learned magic. My step-ma, she's a witch, she told me that everyone has a little bit of magic inside of them. Even the most non-magic of them all. You," she pressed a finger to Josh's nose, "have magic too. It just takes practice."
She laid her chin in the palm of her hand. "Even though I'm not a witch, I do have a different kind of magic. Dark magic. My dad's a demon and my birth-mother was a human, so I'm, half-demon, I suppose. Dark magic. . . is tricky to handle. It really only responds when you have evil intentions. And I don't really have much of those."
(Dangit, I forgot about this one too. AJShflj–sorry! >~<)
Josh nearly choked on his food when Kanoa touched his nose. It was unexpected and, not something anyone did to him often–or rather, at all. She didn't seem to notice as she continued on, which sent a wave of relief through Joshua's body. "Whoa…so that demon part, you referred to, that's actually you? Like, a part of you, but not the real you. Right? You're not evil….You're not, right? But wait, how did your mom end up with your father? Can demons even procreate? Gosh, that sounds weird. I'm sorry." Josh nearly buried his face in his food out of embarrassment. It took every inch of will power he possessed to keep any nearby foliage from instantaneously multiplying.
Kanoa looked stunned for a moment, eyes wide, until she broke out into a smile. "Don't be sorry! I'll try to answer all of your questions. Yes, I am part-demon. It is a part of me, but demons aren't necessarily evil, my father's a wonderful person! It's just the old laws of dark magic. I can't make my dark magic heal someone, only hurt, otherwise it refuses to work. My birth-mother had been signed into a contract with my father, to sire his child in return for riches. She had me, took the riches and left. Meanwhile, she also made an agreement with a witch for fame in exchange for her firstborn child. That's where my step-ma comes in."
She looked down, blush spreading across her cheeks. It's weird that he's asking questions about me. People don't usually do that. Kanoa looked up and caught Josh's eye, giving him a grin.
"What about you? Your plant powers? They're pretty awesome."
(This'll be my last one for the night. I need to sleep. See you guys later! ^-^)
"My powers? I don't know where I got them from. As far as I know, I'm the only person in my whole family line with powers. I like my powers, really, but they're honestly really weak. They manifested in my early teens and I've only been in training for under two years. They haven't been able to do much besides grow plants, restore plan life, and create new or extinct plants." Josh eyes his palms. He wasn't lying, but he wasn't telling the full truth. As far as combat went, he felt powerless in battle. How has he going to be able to defeat the RAC with stupid plant powers? Pollinate them to death?
(For those curious, Josh actually has super cool plant abilities, he just hasn't unlocked them yet because they're still heavily reliant on his emotions and not his mental capacity to control them. ;D I'm hoping to have him unlock them in battle, after a serious emotional shock.)
"Oh my god, I should just propose to you on the spot." Kanoa laughed, white hair falling onto her face. "All of my plants are suffering because of me. I have the worst green thumb, ever." She brought her knees up to the seat of the chair and hugged them. "I can barely sustain my own life anyway."
(Yo, @Topaz~, you still here?)
(…………I was literally just thinking the same thing……weird…………)
Starting tomorrow, I'll be gone for two weeks because I'm going on a trip. Feel free to move around my characters, but don't kill them or anything, okay? Don't let the rp die while I'm gone. Thanks and adios!
OK so where did we leave off?
(I REFUSE TO LET THIS BEAST DIE)
Confessions of a true nerd:
-
I forgot what Dani and Zander and Ana look like and I forgot everyone's heights except for Blake's and Ace's.
-
I thought Blake's hair was long, luscious, blond hair and that's why I had Ace braid it, until I read Blake's profile and I was like. . . oh.
-
I was writing Ace as a dark and mysterious and edgy character in the beginning, but then I was like nope! He's going to be cocky and overconfident and an idiot and stubborn.
Lol
Where did @ONLINE_ROBO go?
*is crying bc her favorite rp has died
Come back rp!
(Yeah, i wish this could live)
(too many people are missing)
(I didnt even get to write Ace's incredibly dramatic death)
