“It is a shame. C’mon, let’s go.” He said, chuckling as he picked her up and began walking towards the door.
(Jssjhsishdh)
Macha let out a squeak of surprise, laughing as she clung to him. “Did Morrigan let you in?”
“Yeah she did. What do you want to eat?” He asked, walking down the hallway towards the stairs.
Macha buried her face in the crook of his neck. “M’not hungry. Can we bake muffins?”
“Course, you have to eat one though, okay?” Tyler kissed her on the forehead gently as made it downstairs.
“Yeah, yeah,” she murmured, but were interrupted by Morrigan, who was staring at them, incredibly confused. “Hey, Tyler?”
Tyler set Macha down but kept his hand wrapped around hers. He looked over at Morrigan, frowning slightly. “Yeah? What’s wrong?”
(G’morning!)
“Barbara told me she’d get you out early, but what about that other guy? Lochlin?” She frowned. “Wasn’t he coming, too?”
(How are you?)
“Oh fuck..” Tyler muttered, running a hand through his hair. “I should probably go get him, shouldn’t I..”
(I’m okay, on a road trip rn
You?)
Macha’s eyes narrowed. “Wait—Lochlin McLain, attempted murderer, is your friend? And you’re going to bring him here?”
(Ooo fun. To where?)
“Okay..technically, I am an attempted murderer, so..what’s the harm..in having two…” He trailed off, shifting nervously. “He’s a nice guy though..”
(Some neighbouring town)
“That’s different,” she murmured, “That’s the Demon. Not you. You’re sure he’s nice?”
(Fun :)
“Yeah, absolutely.” Tyler smiled a little, desperately hoping that he wasn’t lying and that Lochlin would behave himself.
Macha exhaled through her nose. "Fine. But I'm setting some ground rules for him. Alright?"
“I wouldn’t expect anything else.” Tyler agreed, squeezing her hand gently.
"Lunch is on the table, if you two want any," Morrigan spoke up, waving the spatula in her hand. "You can get your lunatic friend once you've eaten."
“Thank you.” Tyler smiled gratefully. “I haven’t had good food in weeks.
(Sorry that was short. How are you?)
(I'm okay, you?)
Mach hopped down from Tyler's embrace and seated him at the table, moving to grab a stack of napkins. Morrigan intercepted her, pushing her down into a chair. "Sit. Relax. For the love of god, Macha."
(could be better :)
"And eat something. I've been uh..meaning to talk to you about something Mach." Tyler said, sitting down and getting a bit of food, giving some to Macha as well. "And since i'm back I thought it would be a good time to do that.."
(hope you feel better. anything I can do?)
Macha's eyes darkened with worry. "Tyler? What's wrong?"
(nah i'm fine 👍)
"Listen, so..I've been thinking, while being gone, and there's no guarantee that…well that we'll never be separated again. There's still so many things and people that could take me away from you and.." Tyler trailed off, trying to think of how to tell her what he was thinking.
Macha pressed her hand against her mouth, praying fervently that he wasn't about to say what she was afraid of. "And?"
"And..if something happens to me.." He said more quietly. "If I die, if I never come back. I need you to be able to have a life without me. You should be able to be happy.."
"Tyler, what are you trying to say?" she said sharply, fear drenching her voice. "Are you–Are you leaving me?"
"No no no. That's not what i'm trying to say. I'm never going to leave you on purpose, never. But there are too many chances that I'll..get taken or killed or…Just..what i'm trying to say is that I want to know that you'll be able to live a happy life and you'll be able to eat and sleep and not grieve forever.."
Macha's shoulders sagged in relief. "Oh. Yeah–okay. I'll—I'll do my best."
"You really thought I was leaving you?" He asked quietly, tilting his head slightly.
"I–I'm sorry," she stammered, raking a hand through her hair. "I just panicked."
"It's okay, don't worry." He smiled a little, reaching over and gently squeezing her hand.
Macha nodded, weakly, squeezing back. "Tell me everything. About what happened. About how you've been."
