Jen narrowed his eyes, a dangerous look in them that screamed murder. He was starting to feel threatened again. "Dangerous? I say you look pretty dangerous with that pretty knife in your hand." He spat back at the guy. "No one here has to get hurt. If we just walk away like nothing happened you and your friends won't have to drag your dead body to a morgue." Jen said adding a bit of casually to his tone, like it was no big deal.
Lea sat down on the sidewalk, still listening in. This is getting pretty intense. I'll have to intervene if it gets too bad.
Rejina fingered her own knife in her pocket. "Hey," she mumbled to Jen. "Don't kill him, cause then I'll have to kill you and I don't wannado that."
Tick was starting to tense. This situation just went from bad to worse. "Shut up Rejina. You can't even stand up straight. Nick, why'd you let her come out here? She needs rest! And you're right." she spat. "It comes with having a druggie and drunkard for a sorry excuse of a father. Damn you." Then she looked at Jen. "Don't try to pick a fight please… Just get you and your, sister?, outta here. I don't want more people to get hurt." Tick's legs were starting to shake, and blackness was starting to creep in around the sides of her vision. 'Damn it. I'm not gonna be able to hold on much longer…'
Okay, this is getting too weird for my taste. Lea stood up and calmly rounded the corner into the alley. She went to stand between everyone, stepping over the passed out bodies, so they could all see her and placed a hand on her hip. "Hey there peeps. Let's all stop being fuckdoodles for three seconds, m'kay? Or everyone in here's going to end up in a mess on the floor, and it's probably not gonna be my fault."
Tick turned to look at a girl coming around the corner. 'Not another one…' She was getting weaker by the minute.
Rejina pressed her lips together. "I'm fine," she muttered under her breath about Tick's comment. Her shoulder rubbed against the brick as she shifted away from the wall to show that she could stand up on her own.
Tick chuckled weakly. "I guess you're right. … I'm the one who can't stand." Then she passed out, body falling to the pavement, eyes rolling back into her head.
(Shoot. Should not have knocked her out…)
"Wow I was right I'm so surprised," Lea deadpanned. What kind of idiots are these?
(pfffftttt! I like this Lea… happy face She is me.)
Rejina glanced around the circle. "Well this is just great fun, isn't it?"
Jen shakes his head and holds his hands up defensively. "No, you're right." He says to the girl who had walked in between the mess. "I'll just be going, I rather not. Besides, I came all the way out here for a fresh start, not a fight"
Lea finger gunned at Jen. "Same."
Jen smiles tiredly at Lea, not being able to help but smile at her casualness despite the previous threats. "Alright then, I guess I'll keep my word" He glances at Nick then looks at Aster. "C'mon, time to hit the road again" He waits for Aster to walk ahead before following after her.
"Cool, cool, cool, cool," Lea said, then turned to Nick. "So tell me how this group came to be. You seem to have a lot of outsiders on your hands."
Nick sighs and drops the knife, leaning against the wall, musing over the situation. Should he act rashly, or stay in his lane? After a few moments, he made his descion. Lets hope this doesn’t backfire.
“You need somewhere to stay, right?” he called after the two.
Rejina looked at him like he was insane. "Seriously?" she hissed under her breath.
Lea looked at the ground. "I have officially been ignored. Wow. I'm literally standing over multiple collapsed bodies, in the middle of this strange group, and I'm just been looked right past. If that isn't the story of my life I don't know what it, honestly."
Jen stopped and looked back at the guy. "Yeah, but we're fine. I don't want to bother." He said still holding a bit of resentment towards the male. Aster looked at Jen. She knew that he knew that they needed a place to stay. They had been out in the streets for days. Never settling in a location.
Nick glanced towards Lea, a glare on his face. “Calm down, its not the end of the world.” He then turned to Jen, a blank expression on his face. “17 Blanchard Drive. Quarie’s Apartments. Room 24, floor 2. 10:00 is when I lock the doors.” To be honest, Nick wasn’t sure why he was doing this. Maybe it was the guilt of being especially rude earlier mixed in with the need to do something right in his life for once.
"Calm doownn,, it's not the end of the woorlld," Lea mocked. When he stated his address, her eyes widened. "That's where you live?"
Jen eyed the guy suspiciously. For all he knew this could a trap. He looked down at Aster who had lost a bit of weight during their travel. If it was for him he wouldn't have taken up the offer but since he knew that Aster was a little girl and wouldn't be able to take much longer of this he agreed. "Alright. I'll think about it." Jen was a risk taker and if he needed to kick ass he'd do it. Even with the condition he was in.
Nick was painfully aware of how expensive the apartments were. Something he couldn’t convince his father of was to get him a normal looking one, lord knows he could afford it. “Yeah, it is,” he said to Lea before nodding to the mysterious male in agreement.
Rejina grabbed Nick's arm, partially to help her stand. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?" she asked quietly.
"Hm. Well, what a coincidence I'm meeting you," Lea said to Nick, "When I ran into you earlier I was headed to unpack in my new apartment. I'm your neighbor."
(Love how everyone's ignoring Tick Tock's unconscious body… lol)
(I got you!)
Slowly, Rejina walked over to where Tick had fallen. She put a hand on the closest wall and, with effort, knelt down beside her. "Uh… Tick?"
Tick's body remained still and silent. Blood trickled down her face from a small cut on her forehead.
(Thanks!)
(Np!)
Rejina tore a piece of cloth off of the hem of her shirt and wiped up the blood. Then, she pressed it to the cut to get it to stop bleeding. "Tick?"
