"But he did…"
"But he did…"
“I know babe but he was forced to. It’s at least worth hearing him out….”
"Let him in…" he sighs.
“Okay…” he walked back out to Landyn’s dad, “he said he’ll hear what you have to say”
His dad sighs. "Thank you…"
“You don’t need to thank me. Just follow me” He said, leading the way into the house.
Landyn was still in his room.
"I-I'm not surprised…He always hides."
Alex repressed the urge to tell him to shut up. Instead he just gently opened the door, flicking on the lights.
He stayed curled up.
“Landyn….” He said quietly, sitting down in front of him.
He looked at him than his dad. "What do you want to say…"
"Two things…"
Alex just watched carefully, prepared to step in.
"And they are?"
"I never wanted to leave you. That place they call a hospital kept me there…And your mom…"
"Dead. I figured as much."
Alex gently took Landyn’s hand. As much as he wanted to be there for Landyn…he didn’t know how his dad would react to them.
His dad sighed. "I can see you found someone else."
"Yeah…"
He had to admit this stressed him out a bit. He had no idea if Landyn had been out to his parents or not. He had no idea what would happen now.
His dad smiles. "I'm happy for you."
"Thanks…" Landyn leans into Alex.
‘Oh thank God…’ he managed to calm down a bit now. He cracked a small smile, trying not to sigh in relief.
Landyn looked away.
"S-Should I go?"
Alex looked at Landyn for a response.
He nods. "Maybe come back tomorrow…When I'm not crying…"
He was glad that that went well for Landyn.
Landyn was still upset. He just didn't want to show it.
“I can show you out now” Alex said to Landyn’s dad, seeing that Landyn wanted to be left alone.
He shakes his head. "I'll be fine." He walks out and Landyn held his shirt tightly.
“O-okay…” he watched him leave in silence.
Landyn brakes down.
Alex was instantly there to comfort him. “Shh I know babe…it’s gonna be okay”
"I-I…" He couldn't speak now.
“It’s okay…” he repeated, lightly wrapping him in his arms.
