"No I'm not." He replied sharply, starting to get defensive. "I'm a soldier." He repeated firmly, meeting her eyes with a steely glare.

"I'm perfectly capable. I've been training my entire life." His voice rose up and he lifted his head a little. He needed to escape, but he was, first and foremost a soldier. He was going to defend that. There was no way he was going to let down Commander Ryker.

Ace sat next to her, taking in everything she was saying, each word spinning inside his head. He wanted to hug her, so he did. His chin resting on her shoulder and arms around her back. Ace smiled sadly at Macha and waited for her to continue.

@Lenered

Welcome, to all the newcomers! I'm excited to write with you! vigorously shakes hand Don't worry, we're not as crazy as we seem and I'm definitely not a murderer in disguise! No, put the body over there! On the couch, you idiot! Oh, dear, I typed that out loud, didn't I?

Blake flinched back as though he'd been burned, his face screwing up into a snarl. He struggled roughly against the handcuffs, but to no avail. His wings beat quickly, as if trying to aid him in a poorly planned escape attempt. "Back off." He practically growled through clenched teeth.

Blake stayed silent, but calmed down a bit, his muscles still taught with tension. Everything in his head was screaming that he was in danger. It was constant. Like a buzzing alarm the R.A.C. had installed into every soldier. Magic equals danger.

Blake looked up at Dani's wings, his mouth dropping open in awe. He reached out tentatively to touch her feathers, but jerked his hand back as soon as it strained against the handcuff.

(I'm back!)
(As long as you have an effective way of entering without crowding, you can join!)

Macha's thoughts kept time with the calm beating of Ace's heart,thankful for the hug, as she continued. ''After Davie, I'd ask each friend I made to make me a bracelet, and I'd make them one in return. As you can probably tell from the five bracelets, I didn't make many.'', she said, somewhat sadly. "After sort of roaming around in the desert for a few months, I reached the edge, and curious, I left it. I'd never been outside of Hara before. I snuck onto a cargo ship one night, and found myself in America. After a few months, I started to make my way west. I was just 8, but life as a Haran had taught me important survival skills, including how to wield a spear. One day, I was trying to get a ride, and the man who picked me up out of pity, planning on taking me home, asked me what I was doing on the road. I told him everything, and before I knew it, I was adopted and living in a small, run-down home in Niagara Falls, New York." Hansi… My Papa…. Macha tried to blink back tears, but they were coming too fast, pouring out of her eyes and trickling down her face. "His name was Hans…", she whispered, haunted by his sweet memory. The little house. My attic bedroom. All his amazing stories… "His wife had died recently of cancer. I–" She was cut off by an overwhelming sorrow, an aching, a missing so strong that it shook her to the core as she cried into Ace, finally allowing herself to grieve for her dead Papa.

@Lenered

Macha sobbed and Ace patted her shoulder, hoping that patting someone on the shoulder was the appropriate thing to do when someone's crying.

@blue_topaz

(thank you!)

The comfort that Ace's touch brought her was overwhelming as she cried into his shoulder. "Thank you…", she whispered gratefully, continuing. "It was by the falls that I met Fae…"

(Imma continue tomorrow, sorry @Nerd! I really need to go!):

I'd like to add my character (Emerald Paula Nayeli Gram Brynn), nicknamed Emery, auburn hair, green eyes, sarcastic, but still loyal, she's an orphan, and she is nonmagical.

Skylar smile widened, and excitement filled her eyes. "Ok good. Now. I need to you hold on to my hands. Tightly, or it won't work. Now. Look over there at that tree. It isn't very far, but farther than the length of my arm. I need you close your eyes." Skylar closed her eyes, too and thought long and hard about that tree. She thought about everything. The Frail leaves, the skinny trunk, the sticks scattered around the trunk. Not even thinking, she automatically felt the lurching I'm her stomach and the breeze as her feet touched the ground once more. Opening her eyes, she noticed that peter looked a little pale. She sighed. She had forgotten how strange it feels your first time. Now it was just second nature to her. Still holding onto his hands, she asked; "hey, are you ok? You look a little pale." She laughed, a look or concern etched across her face.
