He heard a knock at the door when his parents came in "hey you two," Joker smiled at them "how ya feeling vanessa?"

" My arm hurts" she said

Joker half smiled "that's the least of it. How's your side?" he glanced back as Harley came in, followed by a doctor. Both Joker and Brink lost their smile as he came in but allowed him to continue

The doctor came in with a needle and vanessa´s eye widened as her bottom lip quivered.

Brink turned deathly white but wouldn't move from his position on the bed "what's that for…" he hissed, staring at the needle

¨Vanessa¨ he said ¨she actually will be nedding that surgrey¨ he said.

"hold the hell up, you literally just said yesterday that she wouldn't need it!" Brink yelled. Harley came over and rested a firm hand on her son's shoulder, not in comfort for him but for her, knowing she felt the exact same and couldn't argue

¨Brink¨ she said softly The doctor came over and went to put the injection in her arm.

He growled and looked away, grasping her hand for comfort and running his thumb over it

They put the needle in her arms pressing it down injecting her with medicine as vanessa hissed in pain.

He groaned as if feeling the pain himself and shut his eyes, while Harley hugged him tight and Joker took his free hand

The doctor left the room with a smile ¨B-Brink ¨ she said her eyes fluttering.

Brink lept out of the bed after the doctor when he saw the smile, teeth bared. Both Harley and joker had to hold him back and settle him down "not the time Brink," his father said with as much rage as brink showed. He nodded and sat back down on the bed "I'm here love." he whispered as he settled down next to her "I will always be here."

Vanessa Nodded her eyes beganing to shut.

"yeah. So finish eating." Jay replied.

Kate finished quickly. "Fine, happy?"

"let's go…. Get my actual car from the parking lot."

Vanessa Nodded her eyes beganing to shut.

"They put sedatives in her…" He wispered
"Brink, it's to help her for the surgery" he mother told him
"I don't care, mom. She looks and feels dead."
He father came over and sat down next to him "I know it's hard, how do you think I felt when they did that to your mother? I was ready to tear the place down. But Brink, this is to genuinely help her, without doing this, she'll be in excruciating pain for the surgery." He said gently
Brink nodded "I know."

A tan muscullar amn came in picking her up bridal style.

Brink glanced up "who are you and where are you going with her?" He asked, already standing to follow

¨Im taking her to the surgeon¨ she said.

Brink followed close behind, already getting nauseous at the thought of seeing the medical equipment and Vanessa's lifeless body on the operating table

¨Sir you have to stay in the waiting room¨ he said.

He glared at the man "I'm not leaving g her." He reluctantly slowed his pace when he saw the room beyond the doors, his living nightmare. "Will she be alright?" He managed

¨Sir You can´t come inside¨ she said.

He slumped to the ground as another wave of nausea hit him. Joker and Harlet were at his side immediately "Brink we have to go to the waiting room."
He shook his head "I'm staying here."

¨Sir you can´t be here¨ he said.

His parents helped him up and walked him towards the waiting room "she's going to be ok." His dad reassured him

Hours later the doctor walked out with a sour face.

"don't do this to me," brink whispered to anyone who would listen
"Don't…."
Joker stood and walked over to the doctor "what. Happened?"

¨The stab wound hit an artery´ she said.

Brink hit the floor hard "I'M GOING TO KILL HIM…" He snarled Harley went down to him and pulled him into a tight hug
"Will she live." Joker asked, trying not to lose it
