Sterling's POV:

"Depends on the day. I don't want any today, though. Did you?" I asked, filling the glasses before I put the orange juice away.

Eden’s POV:

I scrunched my nose.

“Definitely not,” I shook my head. “Hurry up, Sterling. The food’ll get cold!”

Eden’s POV:

“… and of course, in the near future, whose to say the technology would work? How can you be so sure that humans can replicate the perfect form of food?” I crossed my legs, my face expressionless as I looked at every stood in the circle straight in the eyes.

We’d started a debate project in Environmental Science, and my partner (a girl named Olivia) and I had been given the topic of biodiversity and how the lives of animals mattered. It was my turn to continue the speech, and I think I was doing well.

I turned to the group who’d gotten a restaurant as their debate speech.

“You talk about providing food for the human population, yet there are millions of people starving all around the world? Did you know that most of the resources are used up to create meat and chicken and the likes? Most of the greenhouse gases are produced because of the food you create?” I turned my attention to the group who were in charge for wood cutting. “You talk about providing wood and paper and all sorts of other things, yet you take no notice of the damage you leave behind. Countless trees have been cut down, most of the biodiversity in forests have been lost and you say you’ve got no hand in it. The most humans and animals interact, the more damaging it would be. Think about the wolves. Once humans and wolves interacted, livestock was attacked. Humans hunted down wolves until there were hardly any left behind.” I paused, trying to find something else to say when my teacher raised her hand, signaling my time was almost up. I sighed and finished my rebuttal. Five minutes later, the bell rang.

I collected my things and without a glance back, I walked out, my eyes automatically searching for Sterling.

(Fun fact: this is the speech I made during my class, except I made it way better because I was in a panic and didn’t say as much as I would have liked. XD)

Sterling’s POV:

I waited for Eden outside of her classroom, having gotten out of my last class a little bit ago. She walked out, and I smiled as I made my way over to her.

“Hey, babe! How was your class?” I asked, wrapping my arms around her.

I had my earbuds in, blasting songs from A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, one of my favourite Panic! at the Disco albums, as I walked out of my first class of the morning, lost in thought.

Eden’s POV:

I smiled, leaning into him.

“The usual,” I murmured. “How was yours?)

(You want someone to flirt with Eden? XD)

Gray’s POV:

I saw Violeta walk out of her classroom, earbuds in her ears. I grinned. Sneaking up behind her, I threw my arms around her, pulling her towards my chest before I covered her eyes.

“Guess who~?” I sang cheekily, removing one earbud through my mouth.

I jumped in surprise, instinctively freezing up before the familiar voice hit my ears. "Gray!" I laughed, cheeks burning when I realized the method with which he had removed my earbud. "You scared me!"

Gray’s POV:

I turned her over and hugged her, laughing.

“I’m sorry~” I wasn’t really, but I said it anyway. Kissing the tip of her nose, I shot her a smile. “How was your class?”

I sank readily into his embrace, grinning up at him like an absolute idiot.

"Class was fine. Couldn't stop thinking about you the whole time. How was yours?"

Gray’s POV:

My expression softened at her words and I responded by kissing her forehead softly.

“I missed you,” I murmured. “I couldn’t wait to see you again, but I think I got detention for spacing out. Again.”

Eden’s POV:

I smiled, leaning into him.

“The usual,” I murmured. “How was yours?)

(You want someone to flirt with Eden? XD)

(Lol. Do it. 😂)

Sterling’s POV:

“Hm… It was okay. Life’s much better with you here, though,” I declared, leaning down to press his lips to hers gently.

Gray’s POV:

My expression softened at her words and I responded by kissing her forehead softly.

“I missed you,” I murmured. “I couldn’t wait to see you again, but I think I got detention for spacing out. Again.”

"Aw.." I made a little pouty face, slipping my arms around him. "I don't want to get you in trouble…"

Gray’s POV:

I swear my heart did a flip at her look, and had I not been careful, my face would have shown it.

“Hey, if I get to think about you during class, I don’t mind,” I shrugged, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. “If it’s for you, I don’t mind getting into trouble.”

Eden’s POV:

I smiled.

“I know,” I responded dramatically. “You need a cloud of rain to darken your day, don’t you?”

It was technically a ray of sunshine to brighten up your day, but I’d rearranged the words to fit myself.

I pulled away from him to intertwine our fingers together when a voice interrupted us.

“Hey, Eden,” I looked up to meet the owner of the voice. It was a kid in my science class. He had blue hair and grey eyes, and really, I didn’t know his name. I didn’t want to bother. “You were amazing during the speech. I was totally in awe!”

I have a mere nod of my head, not knowing what he wanted. If that was it, shouldn’t he be leaving?

“Actually, I was wondering something?” The guy said, giving an innocent smile. “My bros are throwing a party, and I was wondering if you wanted to come?” His eyes plain out ignored Sterling. Of course. “And you can bring whoever you want. You’ll have fun.”

Flushing lightly, I leaned my head into the palm of his hand. "Whatever you say….." I murmured, "Just be careful, 'kay? More detentions means less time… with me…."

Gray’s POV:

I cursed, realizing the truth behind her words.

“Shoot, I guess I do have to be careful,” I looked at her in the eyes. “But hey, if I ever step out of line, you’ll scold me, won’t you?”

I raised an eyebrow. "No I wouldn't, because you'd tease me and say that I look hot when I'm trying to be dominating."

Gray’s POV:

I pouted.

“Aw, but you would~” I shook my head, trying to fight off the smile on my lips. “You look hot to me no matter what. Unless you’re being adorable.”

I groaned loudly, touching my forehead to his chest. "I swear to god…. you must be trying to give me a heart attack.."

Gray’s POV:

“What? Of course not,” I frowned, trying to fight off a smile. “Why would I want to do something that’ll hurt you?”

"I don't know….. you'd probably offer to give me CPR in an attempt to revive me," I muttered, trying and failing to act exasperated with him.

Gray’s POV:

I smirked, tightening my hold on her.

“Now that’s a beginner’s flirting tricks,” I said, shaking my head with a sigh. “Why would I offer? I can kiss you anytime, anyway.”

I groaned a second time, sinking further into his very welcome embrace. "That's true…. You'd probably try and catch me by surprise. How are you so good at this? Do you study a flirting manual when I'm looking the other way?"

Gray’s POV:

I gasped.

“How did you know?” I widened my eyes dramatically. “Darn, I thought I was being sneaky!”

Eden’s POV:

I smiled.

I narrowed my eyes at the guy and moved behind Eden to wrap my arms around her waist. It was obvious who I was to her, so where did this guy think he was going to get with her? Plus, I was sure the entire college had heard about Eden and I by now…

“Actually, we’re busy,” I answered for her, glaring at the guy.

Eden’s POV:

I felt a little alarmed at Sterling’s response, but more than that, I felt warm. I almost smiled, but I fought it off.

It wasn’t anything I wasn’t used to, though. The flirting, I mean. It happened all the time in high school. Before Sterling and I started going out, anyway. I hated it, because they’d all have one simple goal—to unravel me and see who I really was.

The guy furrowed his eyebrows at Sterling.

“I’m sure she can speak for herself,” he said in a snobbish manner, which made me want to claw his eyes out. “Why you guys have to be so controlling, I’m not sure.”

Gray’s POV:

I gasped.

“How did you know?” I widened my eyes dramatically. “Darn, I thought I was being sneaky!”

"Hilarious," I muttered. "But seriously, how are you so…. you know."

Gray’s POV:

I shrugged.

“It comes naturally,” I winked at her. “And takes lots of time to master.”
