Luck banged into the stables. "DID YOU LEAVE WITHOUT ME- Oh. I'm so sorry! S-sorry." He panted loudly, leaning on his horse for comfort.

@gracehustle

Fyn glanced at Luck, rolling his eyes with a small smile "No, we didn't leave without you." He leaned against one of the stables and watched him.

@Euric_Knight

Dabria's eye's flashed dangerously as Luck arrived. "I'll excuse you this time, but I expect more vigilance in the future. We don't have much time, now," She warned. She swung up onto her horse's back and began to lead the way to where she suspected Kai would run to.

@gracehustle

Fyn followed Dabria's lead, quickly mounting his horse and waiting for her signal. He took his back off from his shoulder and tied it to the back of the saddle before looking around the stable to make sure that he had remembered everything that he wanted to bring.

Luck scrabbled onto Charming, a huge, muscular red beast everyone else was afraid of. "I'm really sorry, your highness." He pet Charming repeatedly as he trailed Dabria's horse.

Cassidy rolled her eyes. "I barely let you in, why would I let in a total stranger in the dead of night?" She jerked her head toward the tables. "But, you're already here, how about some ale before you go and look for him? Half price and I have the best."
The Guard liked his lips. "Alright then, one tankard, then we'll be off. And make it snappy girl."
She rolled her eyes again but went behind the counter for the ale. She just hoped she was giving the runaway prince time enough to escape. She took the ale back to the men in one trip, a feat very few would be able to manage, but they just grabbed the tankards without so much as thanks. She sighed in annoyance and grabbed the mop again, cleaning up the mud from the soldier's boots.
"Oi! What's this then?" One of the men had gone behind the counter to look for more ale and he was staring at the floor. Cassidy realized in horror that she hadn't cleaned up the prince's footprints. "Oh, my boyfriend was here earlier, he was helping me with the dishes but he left a while ago." The lead guard went and inspected the muddy prints. "This mud is fresh you dirty little liar!" he roared, hitting her across the face. "Where'd the prince go?" Cassidy reeled from the blow. She looked into the Guards eyes. 'Not. telling." She spat. He yelled in frustration and the last thing Cassidy saw was his sword come free from its scabbard and the hilt plunge toward her head before a blinding pain and then black.

Cassidy slowly opened her eyes to fire flickering in her face. She screamed and sat bolt upright. The men were gone, and the whole tavern was in flames. Cassidy struggled to get to her feet, coughing from the thick smoke. She staggered through the fire until she reached the bar counter. She clutched at it for support, but quickly let go as the burning wood registered with her nerves. She cried out in pain, and slowly stumbled to the back door, her head throbbing so bad that bile rose up in her throat. Finally she reached the exit and yanked open the door. She heard the building groan and tremble and she flung herself out the door into the grass just as the whole building collapsed on itself.

He heard a loud crashing in the distance, he turned to see the place he’d just been at collapsed, the remains going up in flames. Every fiber in his body screamed that it was his fault. One voice rose above the rest ‘this is what will happen time and time again when you go to people. You have to fight this alone.’

Cassidy coughed as the ash swept over her. She slowly sat up, wincing at her injuries. She stood up and brushed the ash from her once-white shirt. there goes my livelihood. she thought sourly. All because of that prince, he could have chosen the other tavern to seek refuge in, but nooooo, he had to choose mine. She looked to the woods. She was burned, she was furious, and she had a bone to pick with the heir to the throne. She turned away from the wreckage of her home and began her search in the dark forest.

Dabria gave the signal for everyone to go faster, and when she reached the village, spotted rising smoke. Where he goes chaos will follow, that's gotta be our best bet, she thought, then signaled for everyone to guide their horses towards the smoke, which turned out to be a collapsed tavern in raging flames. If anyone had been inside, they weren't now. Nearby, there were tracks of horses that was definitely not their own, and a fresh set of footprints. She turned to the knights following her, pointed at the footprints so they understood, and started to follow the prints.

Cassidy stormed through the woods, no thoughts of caution in her mind. The lowdown slimy son of a goblin. She paused her internal rant. No, that disrespectful. The late Queen had definitely not been a goblin. She shook her head and pressed forward. She paused briefly to inspect an indent in the forest floor. A footprint. Just like the incriminating ones in her tavern. She had to be close. Cassidy resumed her quick pace, not caring about the amount of noise she was making.

She turned to face the three knights behind her. "This is definitely the work of guards. We need to see if there's anyone in–" Her speaking was interrupted when the building collapsed in on itself, and a young woman flung herself outside. She stood up and started away from the tavern, but Dabria dismounted and ran up to her. "Ma'am, what just happened?"

(Sorry, Cassidy had already gone into the woods to find the prince, I didn't see your post)

Something else distracted him from his thoughts. He froze, intently listening in an attempt to figure out what it was. Something was headed towards him quickly, and it sounded pretty angry.
