Minutes passed after the others left and all was quiet. There was just the sound of their breathing and the occasional rustling from a maid or someone staying the night at the hotel. Then, out of the blue, a voice said, "I think I deserve a kiss, don't you think hot shot?"

"No, you're an idiot," Ryker replied instinctively. He realised what had just happened and smiled. "You're awake,"

She snorted, then winced. "I saved your ass, I deserve a kiss."

Teri was listening. She giggled.

"You shouldn't talk too much," Ryker said when she winced. "And you shouldn't of saved my ass, I could've done it myself,"

"I couldn't let you males take all the credit." She teased. She reached out her uninjured arm towards him.

Teri said, "Young love."

He laughed and took her hand. "I know that wasn't the reason," he said.

She smiled. "I'll tell you why if you kiss me."

"I already know your reason, Casanova," he said. "It's probably the same reason you're always asking me to kiss you."

"Yes, the fine art of love."

"Hmm, you'll never know unless you do." Her eyes twinkled, her pain forgotten.

"Okay, no kissing!" she said to the pair.
