Vaughn heard movement nearby, and his head snapped towards the door.

“Hello, you’re awake.” Kailey said, walking outside of the iron bars, peering inside.

“Yes, thank god for that,” Vaughn murmured in a sarcastic tone, tugging again at the chains.

“I asked for the strongest chains.” Kailey said, twirling the end of her ponytail, grinning.

“How generous,” Vaughn said, intertwining his fingers behind his back.

Arabella nodded and quickly left. She disappeared back into her office and sorted through a bunch of paperwork.

Jackie left, but followed Kailey down to the cells. She watched the exchange between her colleague and the prisoner.

Vaughn spotted the new comer and clenched his jaw, now ignoring the woman he had been talking to for something could use to pick the locks with.

Haven sighed, pushing the papers she’d been writing on aside. Deciding she had to leave now, she ties a cloth around her wound tightly, grabbed some supplies, and was an her way.

Kailey studied Vaughn. She instructed for some guards to face the prisoner.

Four of the nearby guards followed her instructions, lining up in front of the cell.

Kailey nodded, satisfied. She walked away, her heels echoing in the long corridors.

As Kailey left, Jackie walked in front of the cell. "Hello?" she asked the distracted prisoner.

Vaughn’s head snapped up at the voice, and his eyes narrowed at the woman. “What do you want?” He asked, glancing back at the ground.

She leaned against the wall. "How'd they finally get to you?"

“Rebel? You have to be joking. You seriously don’t know who I am?” Vaughn asked, hints of surprise in his tone. He was a well known “serial killer”, how could the woman not?

“Ambush,” Vaughn said, matter-of-factly. “I don’t plan on staying here long, though.”

Ricky texted Haven ~What up?~ (BTW Ricky uses encrypted lines so nobody can track her or her phone.)

Jackie smiled and tilted her head. "Of course." She walked a bit closer and crossed her arms. "And exactly how are you planning on escaping the armored government building you're chained up in?"

“Jackie?” Kailey asked, she walked over, “I don’t understand why there are pins all over the world map.”
