The man scanned Robin's ticket and nodded again. Isaac walked down the corridor to the plane. The platforms shook a little in the wind.
Robin let out a small squeal and stumbled against him after a particularly ruthless gust of wind. "Oh, sorry, sir. I mean – Mr. Whittaker. I mean, Isaac," she stammered over her words.
"It's fine." He stepped over a small opening between the platform and the plane and got on the plane.
Robin looked incredibly embarrassed as she followed him.
(Ship song: Something Just Like This by Coldplay?)
(Sounds good!)
A song played on the speakers. It reminded him of Robin. He looked and her with a little blush on his face.
Robin was looking through her mini purse for something. She glanced up absently, then did a double take when she saw Isaac looking at her with a faint blush. Her heart leapt. "I-Is there something wrong?" she asked quietly.
"No… just like the song…", he said softly. He was shaking, but made his way to his seat.
"Me too," she replied under her breath and followed him. She noticed him shaking. "Sir– I mean, Isaac? Are you alright?"
"Y-yeah." He was a little flustered, but fine. He put his carry-on under the seat.
She bit her lip. "Did I say something?"
"No, no, everything's fine." He sat down and buckled in.
She sat beside him and buckled in as well. Her eyes looked around in subdued wonder.
(timeskip at some point?)
Isaac didn't really listen to the flight attendant ramble on about safety and crashes. After all, he's flew tons of times and nothing has happened. He opened up his book and started reading.
(Okay! Robin's never flown before, maybe he can comfort her on takeoff…?)
Robin, however, listened intently. The more she heard, the more she worried something would go wrong? What if I'm bad luck?
Isaac looked over at her. She looked nervous. "It'll be fine. I've flown plenty of times."
She nodded. "Right." Her fingers drummed on her leg absently, giving away her anxiety.
He put his hand over hers. "You'll have to trust me on this one.", he said lovingly.
She looked over at him. Visibly, she relaxed when he touched her. "Okay."
The plane started speeding down the runway. "Once they take off, it won't be so scary.", he told her.
She tensed up again as it sped up. Faster towards the end of the runway. What if it doesn't lift off? What if we crash?
The plane began to lift and their heads were thrown back with the force. "It's fun, isn't it.", he smiled and giggled a little.
She gasped when her head hit the head rest and squeezed his hand tightly in surprise. "Y-Yes."
He felt her squeeze his hand and his heart fluttered. "It'll level out soon and we will be able to unbuckle. Stay seated for now.", he informed her, trying to shake off that fluttery feeling.
"Okay," she whispered. As promised, the plane soon levelled out and people began unbuckling.
A cart went through the isles to sell snacks and beverages. "Want something?", he asked.
"I'm fine," she answered, still just slightly shaken from the takeoff.
"Alright." The cart stopped by and he shook his head. They continued. "How are you feeling?", he asked.
"A little jumpy," she admitted.
"That's normal. Your ears might also pop or you may get a headache.", he told her. "It'll go away soon though."
She nodded. "Okay. Thank you."
