Luma suddenly froze, a violet streak appearing in his hair. "Glad I could help you two out, but I need to go now, Tell your mother I love her" he said to Rykah before vanishing in a burst of Aura.
Rykah shrugged, "We should probably head up to your house and see about sorting things out… in a way where I don't get torn apart…" he said sheepishly, not really wanting to face Will's brother Jack.
“Yes, please!” Will said, taking off.
Rykah ran after him, his tail streaming out behind him.
Will made it to his doorstep in record time. He opened the door, and stepped inside. “Hello?!”
Anna came down the stairs sadly. “Nothing, Jack?”
Will raised his eyebrows. “Jack?”
“What the-“ A voice from behind both of them said.
“Wait a minute- Jack’s begins you….. Will?!” Anna yelled.
“I’m not hallucinating, am I?” Jack asked.
Will shook his head.
Rykah slipped in behind Will, grinning for all he was worth.
Anna and Jack both tackles Will, everyone crying. Finally, they broke apart. “One more thing….” Will glanced at Rykah.
Rykah smiled, "Sorry about disappearing like that, it was an accident…." he chuckled,
“Yes that, but one other thing.”
"Right…" Rykah didn't know how to explain that as his face heated up.
“Are you kidding?!” Anna asked, having already figured it out.
"no…" said Rykah, watching for Jack's reaction.
Jack took a minute, thinking. “If you ever hurt my brother, I’ll kill you.” He said angrily. And then he smiled, pulling Rykah into a hug. “Thank you.”
Rykah was stunned at that, But then smiled, "Yeah I would never hurt him…" he said softly.
“We always knew you’d be the first of us to get a date.” Anna said, smiling with an arm around Will’s shoulders. “Are you gonna tell Mom and Dad?”
Rykah stayed silent, and gave Will a reassuring look.
Will took a deep breath. “Yeah.”
Rykah's tail twitched, "Always with you Will" he whispered.
Will found his hand, and Anna and Jack exchanges a look. They both trusted Rykah, but they weren’t sure if telling their parents was a good idea. “If you get kicked out, we’ll always open our window.” Jack said, breaking a small silence.
Rykah watched carefully, Gripping Will's hand, waiting for him to move.
“Speak of the devils.” Jack muttered, watching his parents walk up the sidewalk.
“Will?!” His mother yelled.
His parents both hugged him, breaking him and Rykah’s handholding.
“Where did you go?! You scared us half to death!”
"That was my fault," said Rykah sadly, "But it was an accident I swear"
“No one blames you, Rykah.” Jack said firmly. The way he looked at his parents, it was quite obvious something had happened.
Anna nodded in agreement.
His parents raised an eyebrow. “Why don’t you go up to your room, all of you. We’ll talk at dinner.”
Will turned and lead Rykah and his siblings up to his room, where he curled up on his bed.
Rykah pulled himself up behind Will, Wrapping a wing around him.
Anna and jack watched and smiled.
Rykah just sighed nervously, waiting for someone to say something.
“Do you really think Mom and Dad’ll throw me out?” Will asked quietly.
Jack shook his head, “Not if I have anything to say about it.”
Anna just watched sadly, elbowing Jack. “You won’t have anything to say about it. They’ll throw you out too….. you’ve already made them mad enough this week.”
“If they kick Will out, I’m leaving myself!” Jack yelled.
“Jack, what happened?” Will asked.
“He was being stupid-got into a fight with Mom and Dad. Dad got….. really mad. It was bad.” Anna replied.
Rykah couldn't help feeling guilty about the whole thing.. "I'm the one to blame for all this, just tell them it was my fault…"
“No.” Will and Jack both said indignantly.
“It wasn’t your fault, Rykah.” Will said. “You couldn’t help it.”
Jack rolled his eyes. “It doesn’t matter whether he could or not. We aren’t just ratting him out. And, not to mention, they’re going to be upset no matter what.”
"But Will never would've been gone if it hadn't been for me…." said Rykah sadly, his feathers tensing.
