"I had a rehearsal for a school play before, so i just wiped off as much makeup as I could and put on my gear." She carried Reese in. "You got a roommate?"
"I had a rehearsal for a school play before, so i just wiped off as much makeup as I could and put on my gear." She carried Reese in. "You got a roommate?"
"Yeah, but she's never here," Reese said.
"Wow. I guess I'm that roommate in my living situation, Olivia is great and all, but she's always got a new guy over, and you know what that means. Which bed?"
"Yeah…" Reese pointed at the couch. "There's fine."
She nodded, setting Reese down lightly on the couch. "You got ice?"
"Freezer," she said, pointing.
"You aren't allowed to move, or I'll be tying you down." She made her way to the freezer, pulling out an ice pack and tossing it over onto the couch.
Reese arched her eyebrows and reached with her good shoulder to catch the pack. "Really?"
A winked over at Reese, before turning back to look for a water bottle. "Really."
Reese put the ice pack on her shoulder and felt a small sense of relief. "So, let's discuss this brilliant plan of yours to take my place."
"Poke holes in it so I can fix 'em." She found a bottle of water and brought it back over, sitting on the couch next to Reese and holding it out.
"What?" Reese looked from the water bottle to A.
"Drink? It's water, genius."
She took it, her ears bright pink. "So, what do you plan on doing the morning of?"
"Studying plays, old games, and the ins and outs of the game." She stated, braiding her hair over her shoulder.
"You think you can learn everything there is to know about field hockey in a morning?" she asked, slightly shocked.
"I'm a quick reader, and I've got a good memory." She blinked and shot towards her bag on the ground suddenly. "I have something that can help the swelling and pain!"
"What is it?" she asked, shifting to sit up a bit.
She dug around in the bag, muttering to herself about mess, before finally pulling out a jar of green balm. "It's a balm I've used before, works wonders."
Reese looked skeptical. "It really works?"
"Uh huh! I can't promise you'll be able to play tomorrow, but I can promise it'll hurt less, and get better faster. An old teammate of mine sent it as a goodbye slash graduation gift." She grinned, holding it up and shaking it a bit.
"Fine," Reese agreed. Anything to get better to play tomorrow.
She sobered a bit. "It-it is made with cannabis, so I need to know you're okay with that, before using it. Some people aren't, even though it can't make you high or anything and it doesn't show in drug tests-uh, sorry. I ramble sometimes."
Reese paled a little. "If my coach or the organizers somehow find out…" She bit her lip to keep herself from finishing. She didn't want to worry A of the possibilites
"Well, okay, get this. It's legal, right? Has been for about a year. And like I said, it can't get you high, it's just not possible, because it's infused with the CBD, and not whatever the high factor is. The only issue I can see is that you can smell it?"
Reese bit her lip. "So there's no side-effects?"
"You mean besides healing and de-swelling? Nope. I've used it, friends have used it, medical experts have even recommended it. Old people use it for arthritis, too!"
"Fine," Reese agreed, taking the ice pack away.
A unscrewed the lid, scooping a small glob with her fingers and massaging it carefully into Reese's shoulder. "So what's with your captain's vaguely homophobic comments, huh?"
Reese would've shrugged, but that wasn't exactly an option right now. "I don't know."
