Gray’s POV:
I tried not to notice the crumbs on the corner of my mouth, but it was hard not to notice.
“Ah, sounds like you had a busy high school life,” he said absently before snapping out of it. He pointed to his mouth and looked at Violeta. “You’ve got crumbs over here.”
I blinked— something I seemed to be doing an awful lot— before reaching up in an attempt to woe them away. “Did I get them?”
Gray’s POV:
I chuckled at her before shaking my head.
“You did not,” I stifled my laughter. If she were any other woman, I would have wiped it off myself. But this was Violeta. I didn’t want to initiate any sort of physical contact without her permission. “You’re wiping at the wrong corner.”
“Oh…” Flushing, I tried again on the other side, but only succeeded in smearing white icing all over my lower lip.
Gray’s POV:
The laughter I was trying to hold back broke out. I leaned forward.
“May I?” I reached out hesitantly, a grin on my features.
I stared at him for a solid three seconds before my short-circuiting brain registered his words. Blush deepening, I nodded without thinking, too preoccupied with the realization that I’d never heard him laugh like that before. Just.. naturally, no smirks or chuckles.
Gray’s POV:
The blush on her cheeks was far too adorable. It coated her nose and cheeks, and it was incredibly hard not to stare.
My laughter dissolved and I reached forward, slowly lifting up her chin while my thumb wiped off the icing and crumbs from her mouth.
I must have been nervous, because when I sat back down and reached out for a tissue, I noticed my slightly damp hands.
It was if my brain had ceased to function the moment I saw him leaning in. His thumb hadn’t brushed lightly across my lip, the contact had been firm and prolonged, the way he’d carefully lifted my chin and—— Stop. I cut my thoughts off, shaking myself out of my stupor and clearing my throat awkwardly.
Gray’s POV:
“Sorry about that,” I cleared my throat, rubbing the back of my neck, unable to look at her in the eyes. “Anyway, it’s off. Er, are you done?”
I couldn’t forget the way her skin felt soft. Warm, soft and just… I sighed, shaking my head. It wasn’t a good idea to continue this any more than I already had, but with the way things were going, I doubt I would be able to stop.
Eden's POV:
I smiled at him.
"Before you go…" I started slowly. "Please get me a pack of popcorn from the top shelf?"
I pointed to the shelf above the microwave, too high for me to each.
Sterling’s POV:
I chuckled and reached up into the cupboard. Grabbing what she asked for, I held it out to her.
“What do I get in return?” I joked with a smirk.
I glanced down at my plate, which was now nearly empty. “Almost,” I mumbled, keeping my eyes off of the man beside me. “Are you?”
Eden’s POV:
I reached out to take it, a frown on my features.
“I don’t know?” I answered hesitantly. “Whatever you want?”
Gray’s POV:
I nodded, leaning back into my chair.
“I am,” I answered verbally, looking out the window. “Do you want me to walk you back to your dorm once we’re done here?”
No.
“Sure, why not?” I finished off the last of my cake and raised a hand to my cheek, which was still hot.
Sterling’s POV:
I laughed a little and bent down to press my lips softly to hers. “There. Paid in full…”
Gray’s POV:
I nodded, although I had a feeling she didn’t want me to. If she didn’t, why would she say yes?
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to, y’know,” I said to her.
Eden’s POV:
I smiled against his lips.
“Isn’t that a reward for me, too?”
Although time had passed since the big realization that he was not, in fact, a huge arsehole, I still found myself caught off guard every time he acted sweet, or like he cared about my opinion. But kindness aside, I was afraid of offending him, so I offered an easy smile and gave a shrug. "I don't mind."
Sterling’s POV:
I chuckled and kissed her a moment longer before pulled away.
“I suppose. Do you feel rewarded?” I questioned, giving her a soft smile.
(Sorry, this is as much I can write right now.)
Gray’s POV:
I nodded.
“If you say so,” I said, nodding at her.
Eden’s POV:
I smiled against his lips, my eyes closed.
“I feel rewarded, yes,” I whispered in reply. “Satisfied? No.”
(It's okay! Don't worry about it.)
Sterling's POV:
Again, I chuckled. Glancing down at her, I raised my eyebrows curiously. "Oh? And what would satisfy you, hm?"
(dw about it
busy?)
I rose to my feet and adjusted my skirt, finally daring to look Gray in the eye. "Alright. You're sure you don't want me to pay?"
(Yeah, kind of.)
Eden’s POV:
Why did he have to chuckle like that? With his lips twisted into that beautiful smirk, his deep, hypnotic voice, and those twinkling eyes of his. Why was he staring at me like this, knowing how I ended up turning to jelly when he did.
I swallowed thickly, knowing exactly what I wanted, but needed to show restraint. So I took a deep, shuddering breath and exhaled.
“Well, first, you give me that…” I reached up to take the packet of popcorn from his hand. “And second… Go start How To Train You’re Dragon.”
Gray’s POV:
Really, that was the first time she looked me straight in the eyes. I couldn’t make out what color her eyes were, but they were dark. And pretty.
I cleared my throat and stood up, smiling cheerfully at her.
“I’m sure~” I said in reply. “Don’t worry about a thing.”
I handed the money to the waitress who served us before turning to Violeta.
“Come on, let’s go.”
(you don't need to pressure yourself to be on if you can't)
I merely nodded and made my way around our table, tugging anxiously at the hem of my sweater. Why was I so nervous? Everything had turned out fine, hadn't it?
(It’s okay, I’m good for now!
What do you want to do with Violay now?)
Sterling's POV:
I smiled down at her for a moment longer before kissing her forehead gently. "All right, fine… I suppose I can do that. Though, I can't promise that I'll pause it before you get there," I teased with a wink, then turned to make my way to our room.
(alright, if you're sure
should they go somewhere together again? Or should we do the thing where Gray gets bullied?)
Eden’s POV:
I huffed.
“Don’t you dare watch it without me!” I called after him, moving my legs faster (and wincing) before successfully putting the popcorn in them and waiting for the popping sound to start.
I don’t know about other people, but I rather enjoyed hearing the popping sounds. It was soothing, like a tickling clock.
Once it was done, I emptied the packet into a big bowl and made my way into the room.
(I think we can do the part where Gray’s made fun of, but idk how to start.)
(alright
well, what would they make fun of him for?)
(alright
well, what would they make fun of him for?)
(Good question… let me think over it.)
