Marla would have banged her forehead against the wall repeatedly had Gwen not been in the way. To make up for her lack of physical outlet, she descended into an even larger blushing mess.
"I– I am?"
Marla would have banged her forehead against the wall repeatedly had Gwen not been in the way. To make up for her lack of physical outlet, she descended into an even larger blushing mess.
"I– I am?"
Gwen decided making Marla blush was her new favorite activity. “You say that like no one’s told you before. You practically glow. Did you ever notice that?” She softened her smile, twirling a strand of Marla’s hair around her finger.
At that moment, Marla would have gone along with anything Gwen suggested, anything. Held spellbound by her eyes, she tried to piece together a reply, coming up only with "People usually tell me I'm ugly… And I kind of agree."
“I’m sorry, what?!” Gwen seemed appalled by this. “Who? Why? How?…” She couldn’t even begin to fathom this.
"Everyone but you…" she murmured shyly, confused at Gwen's reaction. "And I am… I'm too pale, my hair isn't thick enough and falls weirdly around my face, my eyes are too light and watery, my body is—" Marla cut herself off before she launched into a full list.
Gwen’s gaze immediately softened. “Too pale? Princess, you were just made for moonlight.” She pressed a kiss to the tip of Marla’s nose. “You’re practically glowing right now, under the stars. And your hair reminds me of the first ray of sunshine that wakes me up every morning and I just want to tangle my hands in it. Don’t even get me started on how I could get lost in those eyes of yours.”
Marla could feel something giving way inside of her, like a dam slowly caving in. She stared, wide-eyed at Gwen, touched beyond words. “I— you— oh…”
Gwen pulled Marla into a hug, burying her face in the girl’s shoulder. “Sorry, I’m still getting used to you being my girlfriend so you’ll have to deal with me being clingy all night.” She didn’t sound very apologetic as she held Marla close.
Girlfriend. Marla couldn’t stop grinning. “Why on earth are you apologizing? I love this,”
“Cause it’ll get old super quick.” Gwen laughed. “But I also know I can’t stop myself.”
“I’m a touch-starved gay, Gwen, I don’t think this will ever get old..” I tried to joke. “And don’t try to stop yourself.”
“I won’t.” Gwen closed her eyes and breathed in deeply. “I still haven’t registered this yet.”
“Me neither…” Marla admitted, ducking her head.
“Best sleepover ever.” Gwen sat up a little. “Would you like to continue playing truth or dare, or would you rather just cuddle?”
(G’morning)
“Either, it’s up to you,” Marla answered, “We could also do makeup.”
Gwen’s eyes widened. “I completely forgot! Let’s do that!” She beamed at Marla, giving her hand a squeeze.
(Morning!)
(Afternoon, I guess, lol)
Marla gave a wry smile. “Do either of us have makeup, though?”
“Your lack of faith disgusts me.” Gwen dramatically rolled her eyes. “It’s in my bag. But you’re sorta in my lap at the moment, Princess.”
Marla gave a playful pout before sliding onto the floor. “Fiine, I’m off now.”
Gwen laughed, going to get her bag. “Hang on a sec so I can grab everything.” She mumbled.
Marla heaved a long, dramatic sigh. “Woe is me….”
“Oh, stop.” Gwen waved her arm in Marla’s direction, pulling out a small bag. “This would be lame if I just did like… normal makeup? I’m gonna look up a tutorial.” She smirked.
"Go ahead…" Marla returned the smirk, though hers was wobbly, the effect ruined by her prominent blush. "As long as I'm in your lap while you're doing so."
“That can be arranged.” Gwen smiled, sitting back down. “You’re unbelievably pretty and I’m about to temporarily ruin that.”
Marla was more than happy to slip back into Gwen's lap, marvelling at the fact that this was her reality now. "Don't talk like that, I'm sure it'll be great," she chastised gently, settling her hands on the other girl's shoulders.
(how was your day?)
Gwen set down the bag, favoring running her hands through Marla’s hair first. “I barely manage my basic makeup!” She teased.
(Not too bad! Hbu?)
(shitty morning, decent afternoon, so it balances out
I'm glad yours was okay!)
"Yeah, well, I have faith in you." Marla leaned and brushed a tempting, feather-light kiss across Gwen's lips. "More of that when you're done."
Gwen’s face immediately flushed a deep red. She hid her face in Marla’s shoulder with an embarrassed whine.
(Glad it evened out a bit at least!)
(thanks)
Marla, caught off guard, took a second to unfreeze and wrap her arms around Gwen. "Whoah, is it my turn to fluster you now?"
“I’m going to need a warning three days in advance when you would like to kiss me.” Gwen grumbled, hugging Marla close.
