"23." Tyler replied, glancing down at the rubber band around Lochlin's wrist.
(hhhhhhhhhhhhh)
"Oh, you're younger than me, wasn't expecting that." Lochlin flashed a grin.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Tyler frowned slightly.
"You look older. Maybe twenty five, twenty six." He shrugged. "Still in uni, then?"
Tyler chuckled a little, running his hand through his hair. "Not exactly."
"You know what I mean. Before you landed here," he explained, snapping the rubber band against his wrist.
"I was..but something came up. It's a long story.." Tyler responded, wondering if Macha was awake yet.
"Oh." Lochlin's playful grin was replaced, very briefly, with a small frown.
"How about you? Age? Uni?" Tyler asked, a little more curious about Lochlin.
"I'm twenty-five. Yeah, I know I have a baby face, I shifted to look like this. How could I have gone to uni? I've been in here since I graduated high school."
"Sorry, didn't realize. I'm not that good with remembering things."
"It's fine, you don't have to apologize." Lochlin looked mildly confused, as if the concept of an apology was a foreign and strange one.
"Oh..okay then.." Tyler said, slightly confused as well, since he was used to apologizing.
"What room are you in?" Lochlin questioned, snapping his rubber band a second time. "I'm room 665. I was so freaking close to getting 666, but no, they had to give that one to someone else."
Tyler chuckled a little. "352 I think."
The rubber band struck his wrist a third time, this time causing a faint red mark to rise. "Nice, I'll pay you a visit sometime."
"Why do you do that?" Tyler asked quietly, nodding down to the rubber band.
“Hm?” Lochlin glanced down at the red mark on his wrist, as if he hadn’t realized what he’d been doing to create it. “Oh, that. A subconscious habit I guess? I dunno.”
"Doesn't it hurt?" Tyler asked, slightly curious.
Lochlin’s shrug was as casual and carefree as ever. “I guess? I don’t really notice pain anymore.”
"Oh..sorry.." Tyler paused, tugging at the hem of his shirt. "Do you ever think they're going to let you leave here?"
“What are you sorry for?” Lochlin have Tyler a perplexed look, pushing a hand into his fluffy hair. “And nah, probably not for a while. I don’t really… yeah. You?”
"It's just a habit..I guess, apologizing for things that I say, or do." Tyler replied, still fidgeting with his shirt. "I..I really hope I'm not here for long.."
Lochlin picked up his spoon again, but didn’t lift it to his lips. “Well, I guess you’ll just have to wait and see.”
"I guess I will.." Tyler replied quietly, a silence falling between them.
“Oh, and by the way, the food here is awful.” Lochlin made a face, forcing himself to swallow a mouthful of chunky sludge. “Better get used to it.”
(okay im kind of being lazy and not knowing how to respond so..what should we do with them?)
