Cyrus looked up.
“Yeah, it is. Let’s hurry,” he said tersely, pressing his horse to approach a hard sprint towards the bird.
Cyrus looked up.
“Yeah, it is. Let’s hurry,” he said tersely, pressing his horse to approach a hard sprint towards the bird.
Sparrowflicked the reins again and the horse started running. She whistled again and the bird started following her. She hit the edge of a clearing just as the sun was going down. She rode across the flat terrain and passed through a couple more clearings and forests before stopping for the night in the roots of a large tree.
Luna pushed her horse after his. The bird had disappeared, but it hadn't been to far from where they were. If they pushed it they could catch up to Sparrow and be together, it would be a lot easier to do the mission as a group.
“It’s getting dark. With any luck, she set up camp,” Cyrus said, “We could catch her.”
"D-Definitely," Luna nodded and spurred her horse to just keep going a little bit further, "C-come on."
Sparrow used a large Bush and a tranquilizer to calm her horse and hide him whole she herself nestled deep under the extruding roots and put a lightweight blanket overtop. Completely hidden, it would take a trained eye to find her within this vast forest.
Cyrus moved ahead, keeping a careful eye out for Sparrow.
“Let me know if you see anything,” he said.
Luna nodded and glanced around the forest looking for any of the signs of Sparrow's camp, "Y-yeah. I-I think I see something over there," she pointed over at a large tree.
Cyrus squinted his eyes.
“I just see a tree…”
He pulled his horse closer and scanned the area.
Ryker screeched from above the treetops, alerting Sparrow of intruders. She groaned silently and peeked out slowly from beneath the blanket. 'Cyrus and Luna.' she thought irritated
"Duh," Luna said pulling her horse even closer being careful as to where it stepped, "S-Sparrow hides her camps in the environment."
“Right,” Cyrus muttered, “Hard to spot unless you have quite the discerning eye.”
He kept going forwards until he saw a spot in the bushes that was slightly different, like it had been tampered with.
"D-Did you find something?" Luna asked Cyrus.
He pointed at the bushes, nodding.
“Help me investigate further?”
"Y-Yeah," Luna hopped off her horse and held the rains in her hand.
Cyrus carefully pulled back part of the bush’s branches, but he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary yet. He got off his horse and investigated more closely.
Sparrow put the blanket back in and nestled further into the roots. She prayed that her horse would still be knocked out, looking like a dead rock
Luna debated and then called out after she saw a slight bit of movement, "W-we know your there Sparrow. P-please just come out so we can talk."
“Please,” Cyrus begged, “Going alone was a bad idea. We’ve got a lot of people to rescue and a lot of business to take care of over there. I know you’re mad at me but… this isn’t about me or who I am.”
Sparrow sighed and spring up. She folded her blanket and started cleaning her campsite. A couple minutes later, she put everything inside her saddle pack. By that time, Sultan had woken up from his drug induced slumber. He stood up and walked a couple steps before stopping and leaning against a tree. She grabbed his lead and started walking away from the other. "I dont want to talk, I have to rescue my kids." She muttered angirly
“Let’s do it then,” Cyrus said, “But we’re coming with you.”
"If you can keep up without having brought any supplies or maps, you are welcome to." She said and hopped on Sultans back, tapping his sides and flicking her wrist. He started moving and slowly gained speed. Sparrow didnt look back t check if they followed, she just started moving along her preferred route.
Cyrus immediately got back on his horse and chased after Sparrow. He checked behind him to make sure Luna was still there, but he was sure she could keep up fine.
Luna hopped on top of her horse. She grumbled to herself, "Of course we brought supplies. We aren't idiots."
Before flicking the reins to get him moving after Sparrow. She wasn't going to leave Sparrow to do this alone.
A couple days later. Sparrow stopped behind a large tree and started climbing. She stopped as soon as she saw the tops of the guild. She saw a few people outside, doing some sort of game exercise. She sighed and slid down the trunk and started rummaging through her bags for anything.
Cyrus, still trailing behind, saw the guild’s silhouette just past the trees. He caught up to Sparrow and let out a little gasp.
“There it is…” he whispered.
Luna looked at the building. Her hands were softly shaking as she shook her head before pulling her hood further up onto her head. She looked around the building trying to see if she could spot the entry point, "Y-y-yeah. Th-this is it."
“You going to be okay?” Cyrus asked.
He knew enough about what happened last time she’d been here to understand how scared she probably was.
“And you?”
The second question was directed at Sparrow.
"I'm fine. I just want to see my kid again." She muttered.
Uriah finally woke up utterly confused. He had no idea where he was or how he got here. As soon as he was awake someone walked in. The face looked oddly familiar, but he couldn't make out a name. "Hello." Stretching out a hand he help Uriah to his feet and set him in a chair. "Do you know where you are?" Looking around, he had no idea. The room was nice though. A comfortable bed a desk, a bedside table, even a nice view. "No." The look on the boys face was sad, as if Uriah had forgotten a important memory. "My name is Jax, I'm your best friend. That over there," He gestured to a beautiful girl, pale skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. "That's your girlfriend Maya." He couldn't remember any of that, but he was lucky to have a friend who reminded him of those things. "I'm sorry to jump into this as soon as you wake up. But we have intel that the guild that did this to you, is coming to take us all down." A few tears slipped from Maya's face as she ran over a d gave Uriah a hug. "I've missed you so much! You barely made it back alive." Jax nodded, a sad smile on his face. "They beat you so much, that you told them where our guild is. Now, we don't blame you at all, any of us would've done the same." He stood and tapped Maya on the shoulder. "We need to let him rest." Still sobbing she walked to the door with Jax. "We'll see you later Damian." They both walked out.
"How was that Jax, do you think he believed us?" Maya wiped away her fake tears. "Don't worry. He definitely believes us. And he's going to be a big help." Jax smirked and headed up to Panther's office to tell him the news.
