For the rest of the day, Macha felt sick. Morrigan held her hair back while she threw up (even if there wasn’t much to throw up) time after time, but neither of them could figure out what was wrong. When Tyler wouldn’t answer her messages, Macha began to panic, Rafael reassured her that he was probably sleeping, and she soon calmed down.
Tyler awoke a couple hours later strapped to what seemed to be a hospital bed. He frowned and struggled against the bonds before a doctor rushed over and gave him another dose of the thing that had put him to sleep the first time.
Macha?? What’s happening? Wh—
Macha sat bolt upright, the Agatha Christie novel sliding straight off her lap. Tyler?? she transmitted frantically, fear flashing in her eyes.
Tyler did respond, but it had been hours.
Where am I?
He looked around, squinting a little in the bright white lights.
I can’t move..
Macha froze up.
What’s the last thing you remember??
I don’t know..I can’t remeber anything after seeing you..
Tyler struggled and rolled over onto his side. He was able to move his legs but his arms..seemed to be tied up or something..
Morrigan entered the room, about to speak when her eyes fell on Macha.
"Mach??" She ran over, searching her friend's face.
"It's—It's Tyler—Say's he's tied up—Doesn't remember anything—"
What about walking to your cell?? Do you remember that??
Part of it..but something happened I think..
Tyler looked down at his arms.
Oh my god..why am I in a straight jacket?
In a what??
The blood drained from Macha's face. "Oh my god."
Tyler looked around him, at the number above the door on the other side of the room. There was a small bed near him, all white. Everything was white.
They put me in a mental hospital.
"No—No—That's not possible—" Macha spoke aloud, the world around her going white. "N-No—"
She could feel Morrigan shaking her, trying to break through to her, but couldn't react. "Oh my–Oh my god—"
Macha, baby, listen to me. Don’t panic. Everything will be fine. Please don’t panic.. Tyler told her, trying not to panic himself.
"Macha!" Morrigan's voice cut through the panic, pulling her sharply back to the present as if lifting her from the depths of an ocean.
"Morrigan—they—he–" Choking on her words, the poor young woman tried to explain the situation, squeezing her eyes shut.
Tyler struggled to his feet, walked slowly around the room. He shuffled around, struggling occasionally to no avail. He sat down after a while, flopping down on his side, helpless.
Morrigan cursed loudly, straightening her back to push her hands into her hair. "Fuck. Fuck, okay. Does he know which one he's at?"
Macha swallowed, drawing her knees up to her chest.
Do you have any idea which… institution you're in??
I don’t know. Give me a second, it’s kind of hard to stand up.
Tyler struggled to his feet and peered through the little window in the door. I’m not sure..it doesn’t say anywhere. Do you have any idea what I did? Is it on the news or anything?
"Check—Check the news," she stammered. Morrigan reached for the control and flipped to the news channel as quickly as she could.
There was some news about a temporary lock down at the jail but no details about what happened.
Tyler sat back down against the wall, sighing quietly. I'm sorry Macha..
Macha relayed everything there was on the news to him, but there wasn’t much.
Don’t be. We’ll find a way to get you out of this.
They put me in here for a reason…
Suddenly, the door to Tyler's room opened and he looked up as a young man that was probably a nurse came in carefully. "Hello." Tyler said quietly from the floor. The man smiled a little. "Hi there. Finally calmed down?"
Don’t. Don’t you dare think like that.
Macha burried her face in her hands, shoulders shaking.
But it's true..you know it is..they wouldn't put me in here for no reason..
"What do you mean?" Tyler asked, frowning a little. The man went over to the window and opened the curtains, sunlight streaming into the room. "You kept trying to attack me every time I came in earlier." He said, turning around and straightening some things up. "Oh…I'm sorry.."
I don’t care. Has anything changed? What’s happening right now?
There's a..I think he's a nurse, here. He said I kept trying to attack him earlier…
"It's okay." The nurse said quietly. Tyler watched him go around the room. "Where am I? What is this place? Why am I here?" He asked, shifting around slightly. "Greenwood Mental Institution. They brought you in last night after you attacked a guy at the jail. You kept talking to someone and insisting that there was someone with you. Not to mention aggression and memory loss."
Tyler repeated all of this to Macha.
(I just made up a random city name for them.)
(Lol it’s fantastic)
(Wait you mean Greenwood, right?)
Macha swore out loud, though a single tear was trickling down her cheek. “It’s—I think it’s the demon—“
(Yeah)
Even though you know where I am, I don’t think you can just come and take me..I just have to act..not like myself I guess..
Tyler nodded a little. “Will I ever get to leave?” He asked quietly.
(G’morning)
You’re going to get out, she promised him while Morrigan called Rafael.
(How are you?)
I miss you..
“That depends on what the doctors say. It’s not up to us..” The nurse said, scribbling something down on a clipboard he was holding.
(I’m pretty okay, you?)
I miss you too… what’s happenint now?
(same)
(okay this is a little ….. what should they do??)
