“So… what do you want to do after this? Makeovers? Truth or dare? Other garbage party games?” Gwen tried to spark some conversation, missing the sound of Marla’s voice already.

“Okay! Truth or dare?” She grinned at Marla, excited to start. But she honestly had no idea what to ask her to say or do. Well, she had a few thoughts in mind, but she didn’t intend on listening to them.

“Alright, let’s start off cheesy to give you the real sleepover experience.” Gwen thought for a moment. “Who was your first kiss with?”

@blue_topaz

Marla bit the inside of her cheek, the spike of pain helping to ground her. “Fara Smithers, tenth grade. Girls washroom between classes.”

Gwen giggled, unable to stop herself. “Marla, how scandalous of you!”

“I’ll try not to tease you too much.” Gwen laughed, finishing her slice of pizza. “Okay, okay.” She caught her breathing, still grinning. “Your turn.”

Gwen thought about this for a moment, weighing the pros and cons. “Dare.” She decided, determined to show Marla she was brave.

Marla twirled a lock of hair around her finger, trying to come up with something fun and challenging. “Hm…. I dare you to… let me send one message to all your contacts. In your phone.”

Gwen fished her phone out of her bag, handing it to Marla. “All yours, Princess!” She smirked confidently.

“You wouldn't!” Gwen feigned a gasp. “I thought you were my sweet, innocent Marla! And now you’re snogging in bathrooms and abusing me?!”

Deleted user

“That’s up to you, but when my phone is ringing all night from the four contacts on my phone, you’ll be sorry!” Gwen threatened, sticking her tongue out at Marla.

Deleted user

“I did! But it’ll take away my undivided attention from you. And who could possibly want a break from me?” Gwen exaggerated, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

@blue_topaz

"Definitely not me," Marla replied, surprisingly smooth, "But it'll be fun to see your friends' reactions when 'you' tell them you're joining a society of Flat-Earther's on a pilgrimage to unlock your inner minotaur."

Gwen burst into laughter at this. Her ears, now completely visible due to her braid noticeably flicked back to signify the leap her heart had made in her chest. “You know I have to get you back fro this, right?”

@blue_topaz

"Well, I just won't make the mistake of picking dare." Supressing another grin, she finished the text, and sent it to everyone in Gwen's contact lists. "Dear friends and family," she read aloud, "I would like to inform you of a strong belief which I have held in my heart, fearing prejudice, and are now willing to share with the world. I believe that the Earth is completely flat, and to help enlighten the people, I have joined a society of like-minded adults. I will be going on a pilgrimage with said society for three years to unlock, as they say, my inner minotaur. Love, Gwen."

“Ha! They’ll never believe you! I’m not smart enough to use half those words! Take that!” Gwen giggled, scooting next to Marla in order to snag her phone back. “Truth or dare, Princess?”

Deleted user

“What’s one thing you would never let a crush see you do?” Gwen smirked, feeling pleased with her question. She leaned in towards Marla a little, her eyes narrowed playfully. “No lying either! Nothing gets past my laser eyes.”

@blue_topaz

Marla faltered, tongue growing heavy for a few moments. "Uhh…… I'd never let my crush see me cry. Hypothetically, I mean."

Deleted user

“I don’t think that’d be too bad a thing. If they helped you out it probably means they care about you too.” Gwen smiled warmly and gave Marla’s shoulder a gentle squeeze. Gods, Marla. I’d give just about anything to be that person for you, and you have absolutely no idea…
