"What do you want?" Macha barely kept the hostile growl from her voice, her heart thundering.

"Money. Obviously. Enough for another years rent, but doubled." Noah told her.

"Do you think two university students have that kind of money?" Macha demanded through gritted teeth.

"I think you can manage it." Noah smirked. "But don't worry. You won't have to pay it yet. I just came to watch the show." He laughed, turning towards the window where police cars were parked outside.

Macha's facial expression morphed into one of absolute horror, before her instincts began to kick in.
Alright, Tyler, here's the plan. I'm going to pretend that I have no idea what they're talking about, and say that Noah just turned up making completely unbiased and awful accusations. Then, I'm going to say that he threatened us.
She pulled Morrigan to her to whisper the same in her ear.

Macha, I wouldn't-
"That's a horrible plan." Noah said without turning around. "They'll never believe you."

"Oh, well," she said dryly. "Why would they believe you?"

"I have a good way of making people think what I want them to think."

Morrigan appeared to be halfway between ready to bolt and ready to stab Noah in the chest. "Like what?"

"It's true.." Tyler said quietly. "Once when we fell behind on rent, he convinced the landlord that we had already paid it.."

Macha sucked in a sharp breath. "Shit."

At the same time, Morrigan had slipped behind Noah to wrap her strong arms around his torso and wrench him towards the direction of the back door.

"Drag my ass anywhere you please. My work here is done." Noah chuckled slightly, giving a little wave to Tyler and Macha.
There was a knock on the door and Tyler turned, glancing over at Macha worriedly.

Morrigan jerked back from Noah. Both women's eyes were glued to the door. For a solid five seconds, no one dared to answer,

Then, Macha unfroze and lurched towards the front entrance, opening the door with shaking hands.

Tyler took Macha's hand and gazed down at her. "I'm sorry.." He whispered as a couple officers entered their house and surrounded him.

Macha went along with some sort of crudely constructed act anyways, crying out in 'surprise'. "What the hell is happening??"

“I think you know what’s happening Mrs. Morrison.” One of the officers said, taking out a pair of handcuffs and walking around to the back of Tyler.

(Wait What would Tyler be arrested for?)

Macha fought back tears that were half fake, half very, very real. "Officer, what are you doing to my husband?? I demand to know!"

The officer looked over at her with a look on his face that said ‘what does it look like we’re doing?’ He sighed and attached the handcuffs to Tyler’s wrists. “We’re arresting him for attempted murder and running from authorities.”

"Attempted what??" Macha and Morrigan spoke as one, still trying to keep up the act.

Murder? I would never.

Tyler looked at both of them, his face signifying that there was nothing they could do about the situation. The officer turned to them as well. “He’ll be in custody for three months. Visiting hours are Monday’s, Thursday’s, and Sunday’s.”

(google says that if the gun is used, the minimum is four years
but he didn't use a gun
so idk)

"Officer—I don't understand—" Macha tried to plead. "Murder of who?? Why is my husband being arrested for something he didn't do? Isn't he innocent until proven guilty??"

(Oof well I’m not going to make it too long so let’s make shit up)

“He was proven guilty. We have recordings of him confessing to almost killing you…(Sorry these sound like shit reasons but I need him to be guilty)”
Tyler looked down at his feet, knowing that he would be arrested no matter what. Noah would find a way.

“Those aren’t true!! I dont remember him doing that!!” But it was obvious how hopelessly lost the fight already was. Macha elbowed her way past an officer and threw her arms around Tyler, tears streaming down her cheeks.

(Lmao Okay)

“Hey..it’ll be okay..you can still see me..” His voice broke slightly, trying to force his hands out of the handcuffs so he could hug her.

Macha buried her face in his chest, trying and failing to keep herself from breaking into a million pieces. “I just got you back,” she cried, “Why can’t we just have our happy ending?”

Meanwhile, Morrigan was arguing almost ferociously with another cop, telling him that they had just been threatened by Noah.

I feel really bad for them so mAgic no handcuffs

Tyler wrapped his arms around her. “We will..I promise.” He pulled away a little and looked down at her. “You’ll get through this..you’re strong. I know you can do this Macha.”

Macha shook her head. “I’m not strong. But I’ll try.. I’m sorry. We—I’ll bail you out as soon as I can—”

The other officer wasn’t buying Morrigan’s story, only causing her to become more and more agitated.

“You are strong..stay with Morrigan if you don’t want to stay here. It’ll be okay..”
One of the officers started to walk towards him and the one arguing with Morrigan did as well, leaving her mid sentence.
Tyler took her hand in his and kissed it, staring down at it for a second before instinctively pulling Macha towards him and kissing her for the first time since he’d come back. “I love you..” He murmured before being forced away.

“No——“ Macha had to be held back before she launched herself after Tyler. She somehow found herself wrapped up in Morrigan’s arms, shaking from head to toe, brimming with panic and desperation.
