"Leave the hunting to me" said Silver, "You three rest, Especially you" he said to Skye.

"You've been locked up and unfed. I've got a crossbow. It'll be easy," Septima countered, "I've hardly exerted any energy in the first place."
She took out her weapon and held a bolt in one hand.

"I haven't been locked up for as long as your friend" said Silver, "and I'm half wolf so it won't take long."

"Not more than a moon for me" said Silver, before shifting and loping off into the woods.

"I think I was in there at least two weeks ahead of him," Aurelius said, "Maybe up to four. I lost track."
Septima shook her head. "Why didn't we know sooner?"
"We were supposed to be going on some sort of mission. How were you supposed to know I'd been betrayed?" Aurelius snapped, irritated that his friend would blame herself.
"I suppose… And I've been looking for you for about two weeks now. I just didn't get any sort of lead until I met Skye."

@Becfromthedead group

"That's the problem. I didn't know, and his trail was cold. I was slow to react because I didn't know he had been captured, nor did I really consider it a possibility. He was with one of our nonmagic 'friends.' I thought she would convince them that he was magicless, should they encounter trouble on the road. Turns out she was the one" Septima said, "I should have been more attentive."
"Oh, stop that," Aurelius snarled, "You can't pin that on yourself. You're not the one who put shackles over my wrists and threw me to the stone floor of a prison cell."
"I might as well have been. I had some bad feelings going in, but I let you go anyway."
"Couldn't have stopped me."

"Hey," Skye sat down, mostly so his legs wouldn't buckle on him, "He's out and that's all that matters right now"

@Becfromthedead group

"He's right," Aurelius grumbled, "I'm beyond grateful that I was rescued at all, and that you cared enough to save me. You could've been captured too."
Septima sighed. "I guess… I just… I always feel like I can be better for the sake of you guys, but then I'm not."

Skye sighed, "I think that fight may have worn me out more than I thought…" he said.

@Becfromthedead group

"Well, we're safe now…" Septima said, "I'm glad. I don't know how much longer anyone would've held up besides me. And I doubt I could singlehandedly protect three other people like that."
"Better than using a tiny bit of magic and almost passing out," Aurelius replied, "I'm sure you would've done fine in that kind of situation. You're more powerful than you give yourself credit for."

"Ha!" said Skye, "With all the star running I did last night, and the ferocity of the fight against those guards, I'm honestly surprised I didn't pass out after that last warp hole!" laughed Skye,

@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah… I feel kind of bad I didn't pull more weight. I absolutely could've fought if necessary… It just looked like you had everything covered," Septima sighed.
Aurelius laid down flat on his back next to them. He didn't want to admit it, but even sitting up felt like it took too much energy. It was kind of embarrassing considering even Silver had done something.

Soon Silver came back, holding a pair of rabbits, strung up and field dressed. Noticing Skye he shook his head, "I'm guessing you were star running?" he asked.
"Had to get to you as fast as possible," said Skye,
"With her?" he jerked a hand in Septima's direction as he dug out a flint, and the firewood he'd collected.
"Obviously" answered Skye,
"Fool" said Silver as he started the flames and dug out his spices.

@Becfromthedead group

"Um, if I may ask, what is star running exactly?" Septima asked, "Well, obviously, I saw it, but what does it do to you? Is it just very energy-draining like any other magic?"

Deleted user

"Star running itself isn't exactly energy draining, But it does require skimming the edge of another plane of existence, on in which only Nebulae wolves, and certain other creatures, can survive in." said Silver as he focused on his cooking. "The problem isn't the fact that Skye used that technique to travel, it doesn't actually take that much power to begin with. What does drain a lot of energy is keeping someone who can't survive up there, alive up there. Which is exactly what he did with you."

Deleted user

(Excuse me for the confusion, it's a world building kink I'd forgotten about…)

@Becfromthedead group

(It's all good. There's honestly no better place than RP to figure that stuff out before you get it on paper.)
"Oh…" Septima said, her voice almost going out, "You… you shouldn't have done it for so long…"
Aurelius looked up at the sky still, but he was listening to the conversation intently.
"They're right… You should've let Septima do more. Not sure if you noticed, but she's incredibly capable. Yeah, your magic sped things up, but at what cost?"

Deleted user

"Not that much!" Said Skye. "Sure that kind of magic doss take a but outta you. But not enough to hurt me. Besides Silver's always like this!" Skye gave him an annoyed look.

Silver threw up his hands "Ok I might be overreacting a little bit." He conceded "Im just used to people pushing themselves too hard all the time."

@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah, I know what that's like," Septima said, subtly motioning towards Aurelius. "Some people have no sense of self-preservation. So I understand the magic itself wasn't at risk of killing you, but… still… it could have impeded your running away. You need me to take out some guys, just say the word. I'm not defenseless."

@Becfromthedead group

"That's only half of it," she grumbled.
"Don't mind her… She's kind of touchy about people not letting her pull her own weight," Aurelius sighed, "She feels useless a lot, but she doesn't want to speak up at the risk of feeling like she's guilting someone else into letting her do her thing rather than having them see her and her talents for what they are."
Septima turned away from everyone, pulling her hood over her head. "You didn't have to tell two guys who are practically strangers my deep-rooted insecurities."
Clueless, Aurelius poked his head up. "Why not? It's better to let people know what your problems are so they can work with you."

Deleted user

"Hey" Silver spoke up, "If you've ever met Skye's sisters you wouldn't have that problem. Listen we have no problem with you stepping up, and if you have something to say we'll listen.."
"Silver's right…" said Skye sheepishly, "As far as I'm concerned, women are terrifying…"
(His sisters are legitimately terrifying when angry… but I've made sure to put in personality!)

@Becfromthedead group

(Lol good. So is Septima, but she's always really careful when dealing with others for the most part. But when she's angry, it's not good.)
Septima crossed her arms. "Well, okay, then… I just… I don't feel like it's a big deal or that you should feel obligated to let me do work. But boy, would I like to meet your sisters. I live to see women who strike fear into the hearts of men."
"Oh, come on…" Aurelius murmured, "You are the terrifying woman who strikes fear into the hearts of men."
"It's always good to meet people who have stuff in common with you."

Deleted user

"ha" said Skye, "You should try my nieces…"
Silver wilted, "Don't remind me…"
"Hey isn't Frost still your apprentice?" asked Skye,
"Yup" said Silver, "I half wish I never took on the job.."

Deleted user

"Three kid brothers, two sisters, one older, one younger. And I'm not sure which is more scary" said Skye.
"Dont forget Romero and Comet" said Silver.
"Make that 4 kid brothers and 3 sisters… one older, two younger." said Skye, correcting himself.

@Becfromthedead group

Aurelius smiled. "Wow… That seems like quite a handful. But also warm… loving… Must be nice."
Septima turned towards Aurelius where he still laid out in the leaves. She looked down and shook her head sadly, eyes closing.

Deleted user

"More like annoying" Said Skye,
Silver shook his head and went back to his cooking.
