"now what is wrong with our guest of honor. Someone take the gag off and give her water or something."
Jay sat at the table and saw her but he kept his face unchanged and hid all feelings he might have shown.

Someone undid Kate's gag. The first words poured out of her mouth: "I don't give a damn what you do to me, but wherever my mom is, Agent Maria Hill, if you have her, let her go."

"oh do shut up miss agent. Your mother is just passed out in the hospital." The boss said glaring at her from across the table.

Kate gritted her teeth. "I saw her before that. She was sitting up and healthy and talking and fine. What did you do to her?!" Her vision was too blurry to see anyone on the other side of the table very clearly.

"I just had her be given a sedative." The boss said to her. "Now if you wish to continue to interrupt our party I'll have you removed from the room."

"Party?" she spat. "What are you celebrating? The anniversary of your beating squad?"
This got her one to the gut, and she gagged horribly, trying not to throw up.

"you know what you bring her to my office. The rest of you carry on." He said then over at Jay "let's go." He said then they walked to the office before the others brought her in the boss sat in his chair and Jay sat near him in a chair. they would only be separated from her by a desk.

Kate stumbled as a strong hand grabbed her bicep and dragged her from the chair. She was seated before the man, who she assumed was the boss. Someone else was there, but her vision was still way too blurry, especially after the hit to the stomach. She glared across the table at the man. "So, who talks first? You talk first? I talk first?"

"you may talk first I am interested in what you have to say." The boss said leaning over the desk.

(Did you get the STAR WARS reference? XD)

"Alright." She flicked her head so her hair was out of her face. "Tell me what you did to my mother, tell me why I'm here, and tell me what you're celebrating."

(yeah)
"We sedated your mother. You were brought here to be assessed to see if you were a threat. And we are celebrating your capture and the coming back of one of our people. They went on vacation but are now back."

"Oh, pardon me. Sorry to ruin your ceremony because one of your agents ran out of vacation days," she snapped.

"well you could apologize to him yourself. And I must tell you he is one of the best people here and an amazing interrogater. But he is above interrogating so that doesn't matter."

"Where is he?" she snarled. "I have a couple choice words for him if you don't mind."

"sitting right next to me." The boss said.
"Oh do tell me what you would like to say." Jay said after the boss talked.

Kate faltered massively. She recognized the familiar voice. "Jay…?" she wheezed.

"ah so you have met him. Though he is currently a bit disabled. He could still take you down I bet." The boss joked.

"I'll accept your challenge on one condition."

He laughed. "Sounds great. What is your condition?"

"Whether I win or lose, you get my mother off of the sedatives and never touch her again." She raised her chin defiantly.

"alright why not. And anything special if you win?"

"We'll figure that out when it happens," she shot back.

"alright. Sounds great." He said then beckoned guards in. They took her to an empty room and left her in it.

She started working on freeing herself as quickly as she could.

Jay was annoyed that he didn't even get a say in a fight he was to be in. He just sat there silent like always.

(Okay.)

Kate worked desperately to free herself. After a couple of minutes, her body just gave out on her and she collapsed to the floor. "No!" she yelled at herself, forcing her body up onto all fours.

The boss grabbed Jay and brought Jay it Jay's own office. "The fight will be in an hour. See you then" he said then walked away.

Kate had no idea what time it was, but she frantically managed to get herself undone. Afterward, she laid motionless on the floor.
