like, my main girl Artimae was originally a Star Wars fanfic character who could use the FORCE (oh dang so special), but when i accidentally deleted like the first five chapters of the fic i was writing with her, i took it as an omen and made her the beautiful plant girl she is today WHO IS NOT FANFIC ANYMORE
