"What do you want me to call you?" John asked tentatively.

"Just call me Billy."

He broke out in a giddy smile. "Okay!"

He pat his head gently, smiling.

Jonathan dropped his backpack off beside his bed, crashing into it with a tired sigh.

"Well." Billy said, sitting on the end of the bed. "On the bright side, he wasn't home early."

((CAUSE I'M MR. BRIGHTSIDE))

John spread his limbs out, but still gave the ghost space. "Yeah," John sighed.

((Me too I barely studied))

He inhaled deeply and sat up, "Do ghosts sleep?" John squinted, hugging a stuffed turtle to his chest.

Iris yawned, they had just walked back to their house after the summoning. It turns out that the ghost that Iris had been fawning over, wasn't Cliff, which was sad.

"We don't need too, but we can." He said, looking out the window. "Why?"

"In case you needed somewhere to sleep," John spoke. "I've got a sleeping bag," he smiled good-naturedlt.

He smiled. "It's fine, kiddo. I'd fall through anyway. Corporeal objects and ghosts don't quite mix."

"I've got a fort that I built in my closet," John spoke. "Walk in closet. Take a look," he invited.

He walked through the door. "Wow."

The walk in closet had bulb christmas lights lining the ceiling. He had his dark blue sleeping bag covered across the floor– all his childhood stuffed animals posed in a corner. A small collection of shells decorated the sill of the small half-moon window.

((DUDE I'D KILL FOR THAT))

He stepped back through. "That is beautiful."

"It's my safe haven," John spoke, standing off his bed. "It's got a lock, mom installed that. So dad can't get in," John explained. "My little brother, Kayden and I, we hide here. Maddy drives to her boyfriend's. Maddy's my older sister,"

Iris knocked on their door, no answer. Good. They thought, they unlocked the door and ducked into the room, closing the door without a sound. *Mum wasn't there and Sir was asleep, that meant that Mum could stay away from him for a bit and Iris could get their little sister and brother into bed.

He nodded along sadly.
