(Sure, to when?)
Next day? Or further?)
(Well… Further would probably be good. What should we have them do? Another date?)
(Sure
Is it too early for a cheek kiss?)
(Depends on how far we go… If it’s a few days, yes. If it’s a few weeks, maybe.)
(It’s up to you)
(Um… How about a couple of weeks? It wouldn’t be far enough for a cheek kiss, but maybe a longer hug?)
(Sounds good
Would you mind starting?)
(Sure.)
Devon hummed as she waited outside for Sebastian. They were meeting at the cafe for a date, and she was a little early. That was okay, though, because she was kind of off in her own little world at the moment, daydreaming.
Sebastian jogged down the street, a huge grin on his face as he entered the cafe.
Devon looked up at the sound of the bell jangling above the door. Seeing Sebastian, she grinned and walked over to him.
“Hey, Seb. How are you?” she greeted him warmly.
Sebastian beamed down at her, reaching forward for an automatic hug and then pulling back when he realized his mistake. His smile never faltered, though, and neither did his voice. "I'm great, and you?"
Devon noticed his hesitation and reached for his hands, giving hem a gentle squeeze.
“I’m good, glad you’re here,” she said, her smile widening slightly. “Did we want to eat here or go somewhere else?”
"It's completely up to you," he said happily, raising both her hands to his mouth and brushing a soft kiss across her knuckles. "Where do you want to go?"
Devon’s smile grew even wider, even as her cheeks heated up. “Well… What if we get something from here and go for a walk?”
"That," Sebastian grinned, "Sounds fantastic. I'm paying, by the way." He pulled his wallet from his back pocket and began to walk to the cashier. "What do you want to get?"
“Um… I think a blueberry streusel muffin and a decaf vanilla latte would be good,” Devon mused as she looked down at the baked goods.
"Alright. What do you recommend for me?" he asked, removing a crumpled bill from his wallet.
Devon hummed as she glanced everything over. “Well, that depends on if you want something sweet or something savory. The orange-glazed scone is good for sweet, but the everything bagel is good for something savory.”
"Uhhh…" Sebastian bit his lip in thought. "I guess I'll take the bagel. D'you think I should take the green tea, or the dark chocolate mocha?"
“With the bagel, probably… Well, probably the tea,” Devon said with a shrug.
He nodded and payed for both meals, handing hers over with a flourish and a tiny bow. Sebastian Timothy Marcellus… you are such a dork. That's when he realized– Devon didn't know his middle name.
Devon laughed lightly and curtsied slightly as she took it. “Why, thank you. Are we ready, then?”
“Definitely.” He lead her to the door, his heart singing with joy. “I just realized— you don’t know my middle name.”
“Oh. Well, you don’t know mine either, do you? I don’t remember telling you,” Devon pointed out with a shrug. “Did you want to tell me?”
“Guess, and I’ll guess yours.” He took an experimental bite of his bagel, immediately finding it delicious.
(Such a contrast, going from Barry and Kasey to here. Lol.)
Devon clicked her tongue and hummed in thought. “Is it… Anthony?”
(Lmao)
He grinned, shook his head. “Try again.”
(Fun fact: Anthony is my brother’s name. Lol.)
“Hm… Tobias?” Devon guessed, sipping on her drink.
