@Hawkeye
"First of all, I like my hair the length it is, second of all, mood." Lydia said, laughing.
"First of all, I like my hair the length it is, second of all, mood." Lydia said, laughing.
Trenton actually started to blush when he realized Lydia heard him, his face turning a bright red in color.
"Whoa, you ok?"
“Yes, I’m fine. Simply… embarrassed. How could you— Gods, my face is red, isn’t it?” Trent groaned in annoyance, pulling his shirt over his face.
"Why would you be embarrassed?" Lydia asked.
Trent tugged down his shirt to reveal his eyes. They were widened in surprise as he stared at Lydia. “Because of what I just said?”
"That last part? The part to which I responded 'mood'?"
Trenton shyly nodded, hiding his face completely again.
"I'm into girls." Lydia stated plainly.
“Yeah, but you’re…” Trent waved his hand at Lydia. “You’re confident.” He mumbled.
“Yeah right.” Lydia scoffed. “I’m good at ACTING confident.”
“I’m pretty sure you’re just confident.” Trent’s voice was muffled by his shirt.
“Come out.” Lydia said, then winced. “Sorry, that was an accident.”
Trenton pulled down his shirt, rolling his eyes. He kept his gaze fixed on the floor. “That was bad timing, dwarf.”
“Yeah, that was unfortunate. Sorry. But you know what I meant. It’s not a big problem with me, ok? No reason to be embarrassed.”
Trenton nodded, taking a few deep breaths to calm himself down. “Congratulations, you’re the second person to know after three years.” He responded dryly.
“I’m honored.”
“My father would have me strapped into a guillotine if he ever found out.” Trent sighed, tugging gently at a few strands of his wet hair.
Lydia felt her eyes widen, but then quickly realized that her foster mom would do the same. She rubbed her thigh unconsciously. “People suck sometimes.”
Trenton hummed in agreement, staring at the cards on the floor. He picked up the king of hearts, giving it a disdainful scowl as he turned it over in his fingertips. “It’s quite challenging when mother wants the complete opposite of my father.” He grumbled.
“Yeah.” Lydia thought for a moment, and then quietly said, “You know, I’ve never had two parents at once.”
Trent’s eyes widened. “Oh no, I didn’t mean my stepmom, I meant uh…” Unsure of how to word it, he just pointed upwards towards the ceiling with an awkward smile.
Lydia raised her eyebrows, then nodded. “Jeez, we’re kinda pathetic, aren’t we?” She asked jokingly.
“Very much so, yes.” Trenton chuckled. “I don’t suppose you also receive yearly visits from your godly parent on Valentines Day?”
Lydia stifled a laugh. “No, but one time my mother showed up in a back alley and beat up my foster mom.”
Trent looked at Lydia in shock. “Really?”
“Yeah…. that was NOT a good day. My foster mother was so drunk that she thought it was a hallucination.”
Trenton went quiet for a moment. “Let me hug you again.” He pouted dramatically and opened up his arms.
Lydia fell into the hug happily. “It’s not that bad.”
Trent hugged her tightly again. “That doesn’t mean I don’t worry for you.”
