"You'd be killing a completely innocent being! Powers or not. We are like you humans." Jojen snarls at her. His eyes clouding slightly
"You'd be killing a completely innocent being! Powers or not. We are like you humans." Jojen snarls at her. His eyes clouding slightly
"No. Your inferior powers make you nothing like us," she sneered.
Jojen snarls, "And that makes killing us right? We have done anything to the human before." (Unless they have…)
She laughed coldly. "You really believe that? The human race is burdened with your presence."
"Burdened?!" Jojen roars, "We seem like that because you humans never give us a chance!"
"Why should we? After all you've done." For the first time in ages, she found herself choking on her words.
"What have we done?!" Jojen snaps
"You murdered my mother!" she replied angrily. "You! Your kind! They murdered my family! There's nothing you can do to redeem yourselves!"
Jojen stares at her for a moment then drops his hand from the gun
Evangeline gripped the gun tightly and looked away from him. She shook her head subtly. "We did nothing. They just came."
"And so you blame the rest of us for it? And take out your anger?" Jojen stumbles and falls to his knees. His hands shook
She turned to look at him sharply. "It's not anger," she replied smoothly, her voice shockingly calm.
Jojen coughs, holding his side and doubling over, "Then. Why haven't you pulled the trigger?"
Evangeline narrowed her eyes. "Is there something you're waiting for?"
"Yeah. Death. Just end it now." Jojen chokes. The blue hue almost enveloping his body, "I'm not going to die at an old age. Especially going through all of those solid objects with hardly any ability… I'm dying anyway
"Then what was the point? Fighting your way to find me all for what?" she spat.
"Just to see just how awful you humans really are."
Evangeline's features tightened. "You're not in a position to speak that way," she said sharply.
Jojen shrugs, holding his stomach, "If you shoot then it'll save me trouble of dying slowly."
"And what if that's a privilege I want to offer?"
"Offer?" Jojen looks up at her. His breathing was ragged and sharp.
She arched her eyebrows and pressed her lips together. "Precisely. Was that unclear?"
"Yes."
Evangeline laughed shortly and lowered her gun. "That's too bad." She walked over to her computer and activated her communicator. "I need a squadron of the best guards here now." She looked back at him. "I'm afraid you'll have to be going now."
Jojen stares at her. His eyes expressing quite plainly that if he weren't in this state he would have struggled her
She smirked. "Is there anything else you'd like to say?"
"Fuck you." He raises his hand with the blue hue and smashes it down on the control panel. It hisses and sparks. Everything goes silent and dark
Evangeline backed away quickly into the corner. "Turn on your lights and hurry!" she hissed into her wrist communicator.
Jojen disappears into the shadows. He wraps his arm around her neck from behind and pulls her back, "Call them off…" He hisses. His accent heavy.
She gasped in brief shock and threw her elbow back instinctively. "No!"
