Cruz followed his friend's gaze. A fresh snowfall began to drizzle from the sky– they made the gunshot of a redcoat softer in the atmosphere.
"Shit!" Cruz cursed, and made a run for it.

Louis tore off after him, feet pounding against the ground.
Cruz could hear the sound of horse hooves pounding faster behind them, but dare not look back.
His expression softened. "Its such a big thing, I'm so.. Anything could happen," her fiancé worried.
"Like what? Boey comes in during the ceremony?" she laughed.
He grabbed hold of the Spaniard's arm and pulled him towards an area where the trees were thicker and difficult to manoeuvre around on horseback.
"Anything," he half laughed. "I don't know. I'm so excited, still, just with that thought.."
He grabbed hold of the Spaniard's arm and pulled him towards an area where the trees were thicker and difficult to manoeuvre around on horseback.
The british soldier fired his gun, the bullert clipped the side of Cruz's head and made him fall.
Louis called out, falling to his knees beside his friend and frantically trying to heft him back to his feet again.
"Well," she began, tugging his shirt, "you should get ready. I have to go to Abigail's house to prepare, remember?"

The soldier leapt off the horse and ran at Louis.
Cruz blinked a few times, tried to speak. His eyes flitted across Louis's face, and then passed out.

"I suppose," he breathed.

She kissed his cheek lightly. "See you soon," she whispered, her eyes sparkling.
"Mm, wait. One more kiss," he pleaded Jane.

(by the way, feel free to harm Louis/Pierre in any way you want, as long as it's not fatal)
Louis cursed loudly, praying with all his might that Cruz wasn't dead as he slung him over one shoulder and ran for both of their lives.
The soldier ran after Louis. Having been on horseback, his endurance was fresh– and he wasn't carrying another man.
Louis's legs burned with each step he took. Behind him, he could hear the redcoat getting nearer, which only fuelled his panic-induced flight.
The soldier edged a little closer– then threw his musket as hard as he could, aimed for Louis' head.
"Mm, wait. One more kiss," he pleaded Jane.
She smiled slyly. "What are you waiting for, Lieutenant?"
Something hard hit Louis square in the back of the head, causing him to stumble and fall into a heap on the ground. Knowing that there wasn't enough time to get up, he curled his body protectively around Cruz, eyes wide-open and alight with terror.
"Mm, wait. One more kiss," he pleaded Jane.
She smiled slyly. "What are you waiting for?"
"Your permission," he smiled affectionately.
"We're getting married, what more permission do you need to kiss me?" she asked softly.

Grabbing his musket, the soldier fell onto his knees, and began to beat the living crap out of the Frenchman.
Not to kill him. To knock him unconscious.
"We're getting married, what more permission do you need to kiss me?" she asked softly.
"Because.." He traced her cheek with a hand. "Because it displays my utmost respect for you."

She took a half-step closer. "I give you my undying permission to kiss me whenever you so desire," she whispered.
"Mm," Her fiancé hummed, "Good. I love you,"
"I love you too," Jane hummed softly.
He pecked a brief kiss on his future wife's nose.
"There. That was your kiss," she purred. "I must go now."
"Be safe," he murmured.
"I will. My feet won't touch the ground, I'm afraid," she teased, wrapping her shoulders in a woolen shawl.
