(Yeah, I think it'll be fun to see how they meet and stuff! ;D)

(Everyone will be able to be in Dumbledore's army if wanted.)
(Awesome! ;D)
(Do they let Slytherins in? If so, that sounds fun.)
(they probably let in anyone who asks.)
(True, I just feel like they'd be a little wary of Slytherins, if they didn't outright reject them. Even then, there are exceptions to every rule.)
(Maybe they'd need to do something to prove that they were going to be loyal to the DA over, say, Snape or Umbridge.)
(Everyone ready to start?)
yeah)
(Yup!)
(Alrighty here we go)
Luna and her brother made their way to Diagon Alley. "Hurry up Luna, we only have so much time before the Malfoys get there and get all the good stuff." Leo said, running ahead. "Okay, I'm coming." Luna sighed.
(I'll be here later. Of course I don't mind if you guys get started though)
(Okay)
Melissa was crouched in a nitch, watching the bustling stream of wizards pouring down through the alley. Even though she was a pureblood and knew where she needed to go, she didn't move. Her dark hair helped her blend into the shadows, but her bright blue eyes betrayed her.
Luna began sprinting to keep up with her older brother. "I get you wanna get there Leo, but there's no need to be a git and make me run to keep up with you." Luna mumbled.
Rey walked through Diagon Alley alone among the lively crowd of wizards. He saw a kid from Hogwarts here and there, made sure to smile and greet them, but ultimately just went about his business. He looked down at his list and made his way towards Flourish and Blotts.
Jace walked into diagone alley and looked around. He kept his head down not acknowledging anyone.
Cassandra rummaged through the books in Flourish and Blotts, careful not to fall off the step ladder. Now…where is that Herbology book? She continued to flick through the books, biting her lip in concentration.
Rey grabbed his Defense Against the Dark Arts textbooks. There were about five of them- more than he'd ever had for this course before. Why on earth would anyone teach a book-heavy course on a practical subject? He shook his head and went to the herbology section. After some searching, he found what he was looking for just above his head. He reached up, grabbed a copy, and added it to his stack.
"Hey, I know you… You need this book too, right?" Rey asked, grabbing a second text.
(Could Rey find Melissa at some point?)
(Sure, we can figure out how to do that.)
(Okay. She's basically huddled in a niche in the alley.)
(Maybe once he leaves the store)
"Hmm?" Cassandra looked down to see someone familiar. Wasn't he in her year? What was his name again… Rain? Rick? "Um, yes, thank you." She said softly, stepping down from the ladder carefully. So there's Herbology, I still need Defense Against the Dark Arts, and then I'll be done.
Jace walked into the store and looked for defense against the dark arts books. And soon enough he found them.
"So, uh… You have any clue who our new defense against the dark arts professor is going to be? We have loads of books from the class," Rey said. His arms were shaking a little from the weight of all of the books.
"Well…" Cassandra bit her lip, throwing around the idea of telling him or not. Her father was in the Ministry, which was the reason why she knew. Lowering her voice, she stepped closer to him. "It's going to be Umbridge, from the Ministry. Please don't tell anyone else." Cassandra said, eyes pleading. If this information got out before the school year, her father could get fired.
"Of course not," Rey told her, "I just hope things aren't terrible… All these textbooks don't exactly strike me as a good sign."
"I haven't gotten them yet…how many are there?" Cassandra asked softly, brow furrowed. Surely there couldn't be that many? It was just Defence Against the Dark Arts; the class was almost purely casting defense spells.
