“Apparently pictures mean nothing when you can’t sketch an apple.” Gwen replied dryly. “Curse you, Mrs. Valdez. You absolute dream crusher.” She dramatically clenched her fist, but the vibe was ruined by her impish grin.
“Apparently pictures mean nothing when you can’t sketch an apple.” Gwen replied dryly. “Curse you, Mrs. Valdez. You absolute dream crusher.” She dramatically clenched her fist, but the vibe was ruined by her impish grin.
Marla snorted loudly, quickly covering her mouth with her hand afterwards. "Ouch. I'm sure you have a ton of other talents, though."
“Yeah, I bet.” Gwen rolled her eyes. “My talents include growing plants, procrastination, and being about as straight as a graphed quadratic.”
(dies laughing)
Marla absolutely could not believe her luck. She had gone for coffee, a walk by the lake, and been photographed by an adorable, sweet queer girl. The grin that lit up her face rivalled the sun. "I can definitely tick off those last two boxes."
Gwen thought she was holding it together pretty well. Up until this very moment she was managing to scrape by without making an idiot of herself. But the bright grin on Marla’s face made Gwen melt almost instantly. Code red! This is not a drill! Pretty girl you may be on a date with is smiling! Gwen’s face turned a flustered shade of pink as she tried to redeem herself.
And now Gwen, the queer girl, was blushing in her presence. Marla was pretty much done for at that point. "If you don't– would it– would it be intrusive to ask.. which, err, 'brand' of queer you are?"
“Brand?” Gwen laughed a little, amused and embarrassed at the same time. “I’m bi, if that’s what you’re asking.”
(G’morning! How’re you?)
Marla turned red. “God, I’m so bad at phrasing things, I’m sorry. Yeah, that’s what I meant— sorry.”
Gwen brushed this off, stifiling a giggle. “What brand are you then? If you don’t mind me asking, of course.”
(I’m good today! A bit tired, but I guess that’s in my name anyways, so it’s expected. How’re you feeling?)
(Glad you’re feeling good! I’m the same, it’s a holiday for my school so I’m at home again)
Still flushed, Marla tugged on a lock of her hair. “I’m pansexual. Or bisexual. Either one.”
(That’s good! Sorry about the late reply, I went out after school!)
Gwen couldn’t hide her smile. “Gotcha.” She replied, trying to play it off cool.
(dw about it, how was it?)
"Brand…. God, I must have sounded so stupid," she muttered, eyes flickering away. "I'm never speaking again."
“It was entertaining, don’t worry.” Gwen smiled brightly.
"As long as there's that…" Marla smiled faintly, glancing back up. "As much as I regret to say this, we should probably get back."
(also: random, but one of the updates to notebook.ai is that you can put a bio in your profile!)
“Yeah, you’re right.” Gwen sighed, scooping up her bag and plant. “I gotta drop off this bad boy anyways.”
She chuckled at that, slinging her bag back over her shoulder. "I can walk you to your dorm, if you'd like?"
“That’d be nice.” Gwen looked over at Marla, starting to walk. “Sorry about all the walking today. I’m normally not this active.”
"Hey, it's no problem. Don't worry about it, this was fun." Marla scratched her nose, a shy smile settling on her lips. "We should do this again."
“I’d like that.” Gwen nudged Marla with her arm. “You’re fun to hang out with.”
Marla's smile only grew as she nudged Gwen back. "You are too."
(I had no idea about the bio! Looks like I should plan one out soon! Thanks for telling me lol)
“Of course I am. All the plants say so.” Gwen exclaimed, gently raising the orchid’s pot.
(np lol)
"I thought you didn't talk to them?" she teased, a mischievous light entering her eyes.
“Okay, you got me there. But my mom says I’m cool, so…” Gwen raised an eyebrow teasingly at Marla while they walked.
"I applaud you for the achievement," Marla joked, the raised eyebrow making her heart skip a beat.
She snorted in amusement, taking on last look at the lake. “Hey, if you don’t mind me asking, what sort of homework do you get for theory of prophecy?” She asked curiously, looking at her plant.
“Well, we get a lot more homework from the practical class, but for Theory, it’s mostly just assignments testing our understanding. Practical assignments include practicing with the Tarot, using what we learned in Theory to form predictions, etcetera.” Realizing that she was rambling, Marla clamped her jaw shit.
“Huh…” Gwen mumbled thoughtfully, thinking this over for a minute. “I’m gonna be honest with you, I’ve never even seen a tarot card before.”
(oml I just saw my typo… I'm so sorry..)
"They're….." Marla bit her tongue, before continuing. "Terrifying. I have my mother's deck–"
