"hey." Jay said and waved with a smile.

"That's Jay. He's a friend," Kate said with a smile.
Matt nodded absently. "My dad's coming in a few."
"Oh…" Kate whispered softly.

"who is your dad?" Jay asked.

Matt looked over at him. "Phil Coulson," he replied smartly.
"His dad works with my mom at S.H.I.E.L.D.," Kate clarified.

"I should go." Jay said and got up.

"Why?" Kate asked, walking over to him.

"I just probably go. um my dad…. He might be home." Jay said already knowing his dad was not home. Then he walked to the door.

Kate watched him sadly.
"Who's your dad?" Matt asked. Kate elbowed him in the side.

He hesitated before answering. "Edward Nygma. The Riddler." He said.

Matt blinked disbelievingly. "You're friends with a villain's son?!"
"Jay, you should probably go," Kate whispered.

Jay nodded already leaving. He walked out and down the hall.

"Kate, are you serious?! You let him go?" Matt demanded.
"He's innocent! He helped me!" she argued. "If you're only going to fight with me, I suggest that you leave."
"I'm not trying to fight with you, I'm trying to protect you, Kate."

Jay kept walking down the hall then stopped and turned around. He walked back into the room and smiled at Matt. "You seemed nice." He said then punched Matt in the face and walked away.

Kate called after Jay, "What was that?!" She knelt beside Matt and looked at his face "Are you okay?"

Jay smiled and walked down the hall and out to the parking lot. Knowing exactly why he punched Matt. It was because he already knew what Matt assumed of him, he is a villain's kid so he must be bad too.

"Ah, I guess," Matt groaned. "Next time I see him…"
"Don't," she cut in.

Jay got to his car started it up and left.

"When is your dad coming?" she asked.
"He didn't say."

Jay drove half of the way home then ran out of gas. He sighed. Just because he never drove this often he hasn't put gas in recently. Jay leaned back in his seat.

He chuckled lightly "people tell me that all the time, it's didn't work with them and it won't work with you."

Jay ended up just keeping his car there and fell asleep in his car.

Jay woke up and looked at his phone it was a text from his dad. He wanted Jay to retrieve something from some house easy enough. He also said that there were clothes in the back that he could wear. Jay got out and opened the trunk, there where clothes. A pair of dark blue pants that seemed like sweatpants material but looked like dress pants, a nice white shirt, a boring blue blazer and of course a tie. He sighed and put it on. Why did his dad insist on him looking well for a crime. Then he noticed a small box with a note that said that he still had to attend school. It was a mask….. Why a mask. He took it out it in his pocket then walked to the address. Jay usually chose to stay out of crime sprees but this one his dad seemed to be forcing him to go on. He found the house and put on the mask and walked to the back and went in through a second story window. climbed wasn't that hard when the people had bricks everywhere. Once inside Jay walked down the hall and found a study. Quickly he started searching for what his dad told him was a case file. Suddenly Jay noticed a device in the corner of the room. Fuck a silent alarm. Jay quickly searched for the specific file when he found a different one. It had the shield symbol on it. This home owner worked for shield…

Kate looked up as her phone went off. She went over and looked at the notification. "Someone's in my house," she said, completely shocked. "Matt, someone's in my house!" She stood up and extended her hand to help him up.
"Okay, okay," Matt groaned. He took her hand and stood with her. "I'll call my dad and let him know."
Kate nodded. "Come on, hurry!" She stopped in the threshold of the door to look back at her mother one last time before they left. "I'll be back soon," she said before rushing out the door.
Together, they sprinted to his car and arrived at her house. Matt called his dad during the car ride, so he would be coming to back them up soon.
Kate leaped from the car and ran into her house, her gun raised. "Wherever you are, come out with your hands raised!" she demanded.

"Shit" Jay mumbled. "Thanks dad." he mumbled a bit sarcastically then walked quietly to a window. Jay decided that he would just leave without the file. He wasn't even told what the file was about. He opened a window slowly and got ready to jump out it. He grabbed his backpack first though.

Kate stormed through her house. "Where are you?!" she shouted. She pushed open a door and saw a figure in the window. "Stop!" she ordered.

he glanced at her "I can never shut up, teachers and kids alike have been telling to stop talking, stop clowning around, stop being so freaking happy all the time. Stop being me." he glanced down and checked his wound. "I will never stop being who I am, no one's going to tell me otherwise."
