“It’s impolite to stare.” Trenton scolded lightly, but he had admittedly stolen a few long lasting glances himself. He looked at Lydia and took an uncertain step in Blair’s direction. He ended up stumbling a little, but caught himself.

Blair still hasn't noticed the two people, as he was a stupid little shit and his eyes were looking to the ground. The words of a song were stuck in his head and he was trying to remember what the title was.

“I’m operating on the notion that I can put faith into my instincts when it is necessary.” Trent replied, slowing his pace so he wouldn’t fall over. “He seems… distressed. It would be wrong to not lend a hand.”

(I’m probably going to turn in too, I have a test tomorrow. Night guys!)

Blair went to sit on his cabins porch, taking the small thing of ointment.

Trenton chewed his bottom lip, uncertainty flashing in his eyes. He stopped at looked at Blair again for a moment. “I suppose I was… rather impolite myself in our first meeting. I should at least apologise.” He decided firmly, gaining confidence with each careful step towards Blair.

Blair turned and looked at them, a mix of shock and fear growing on his face. He scrambled up and grabbed his bag, about to run.

Trenton stopped when he was a few feet away from Blair, unsure of how to start the conversation.

“Wait!” Trenton held up his hands in a sign of surender to Blair, trying to urge the other boy to stay. He silently nodded at Lydia. “I don’t mean you harm.” He spoke up again, trying not to focus on the burn on Blair’a face.

"What do you want?" Blair growled, crossing his arms. The burn across his face made the scowl even more menacing. Now they think I'm even more of a freak, good job Blair. He thought to himself sarcastically.

Trenton flinched, but managed to stay put. “I wanted to make amends.” He replied flatly.

Blair didn't say anything, he just turned and walked back into the forest.

“Blair!” Trenton ran after him, jogging a couple steps. He tripped over his own feet, landing with a resounding whump! on the ground.

Trenton pushed himself into a sitting position, more annoyed than anything else. “No need, Lydia. Only my pride is injured.” He grumbled, brushing dirt off himself.

Deleted user

“Yes, I’m certain it’s simply fatigue. I’ll be lightheaded for awhile is all.” Trenton smiled slightly. “I appreciate your concern.”

Blair stalked into the edge of the woods and sat on a rock, he pulled out the small container. He picked up a glob of the stuff and began to spread it on his face.

Deleted user

“I suppose you may be right.” Trent slowly got to his feet. He stared at the woods, where Blair had vanished. “Perhaps you should check on him as well. You seem amicable.”

Deleted user

“Friendly.” Trent replied flatly, glaring at the tree line. “It appears I cannot do much to help in this situation.”

Trent smiled warmly in response. “Do you want my rapier?” He gestured to the ornate handle of the sword attached to his belt. “It may not be the most appropriate weapon at this time. Knife to a gunfight as they say, but if it offers you some protection I would be happy to lend it to you.”

@Hawkeye

Lydia nodded, suddenly realizing she had left her sword at the beach, in a crack in the rocks. She took the rapier, and headed off in the direction Blair had gone.
