Samuel nodded, sensing that it was a somewhat touchy subject. "I'm sorry. And yes– I could definitely tell that much."

She raised her hand. "It's fine. Well, anyways, that's the spare bedroom." She led him down the hallway. "You've already seen Casey's office right there. That's the weapons room to the left, and beside that is the unofficial boy's bathroom, that room's some kind of storage Casey has, and that's the unofficial girl's bathroom." Sol turned to him and gave a bright smile. "Welcome to the team, Sam. If you need anything, you can ask me, even if you just need company or someone to confide in." She placed her arm on his shoulder with more force than was necessary.

“Thank you, Sol.” Sam’s eyes may have been darting around the room, but it was clear that his words were genuine. “Really, thank you.”

"You're always welcome." Sol considered something for a moment. "I work better when I know my team." She guided him to her room and to sit on her bed next to her. "Tell me about yourself."

Sam dug his nails into his wrist to bring himself sharply back to the present as Sol sat him down, doing his best to get a grip over his anxiety. "I'm not a very interesting person.. there's not much to say. I'm awkward, I guess. Not good at small talk. Sort of a 'mom' friend and a peacemaker within a team."

Sol nodded. "Okay, what are your interests? Hobbies?"

"I like reading. Mystery novels mostly. I garden a lot, watercolour paint a little." Sam gave a shrug, his body slowly relaxing. "Like I said, not very interesting. What about you?"

"Well, I teach martial arts, no one has defeated me in hand to hand combat since I was…" Sol counted on her fingers. "15! Yeah. I'm nineteen right now, so it wasn't actually that long ago. I like coffee, and I despise tea." she elbowed him. "Remarkable I got onto this team, eh? Oh, I'm part Canadian, part Finnish, I'm fluent in Finnish and can speak some of a few other languages. If you ever need a knife, you can count on me. I know the best places. I love music, I started playing violin when I was five, the same age I started martial arts, and started orchestra in sixth grade, I kept doing that until I was like fourteen, then I kinda got bored of it. I still can play, though. I love TV shows and anime, and yeah. That's some stuff about me." Her eyes widened. "Sorry, that was a lot."

Luca mumbled something else into his shirt, but didn't elaborate further. Instead she tilted her head up, looking at him with a satisfied smile. After a moment, she stood on her tip toes and kissed him soundly.

Sol has adopted Sam. He is her child now. You cannot take him from her.))

Luca dropped back down to her normal height after the kiss, giving Cam a small smile. "I'm going to go make lunch and introduce myself. You can join if you want." She ducked out of her room, striding into the kitchen on light feet. She suddenly had the urge to go to the gym to work off her raging emotions. Perhaps Sol would go with her, despite them being into different sports.
