"Hm… What age do you wish you could permanently be?" he asked with a tilt of his head.
"Hm… What age do you wish you could permanently be?" he asked with a tilt of his head.
Devon sighed and chewed on her lip. “Gosh, I dunno… 21, I guess. Young forever,” she chuckled.
Sebastian snorted– even he knew the name of the popular store. "I can tell where you enjoy shopping, judging by that statement."
“Oh, I didn’t even think about that,” she admitted with a light laugh.
"Wow, I caught a reference that wasn't meant to be made? That's a first," he joked, running a hand through his hair in an attempt to tame it.
Devon chuckled as she smiled over at him. "Okay, what about you, then? How old would you want to be?"
"Around 20, I guess. Haven't given it much thought." He shrugged, picking up a menu.
Devon had barely glances at the menu, put she picked it back up when she saw Sebastian looking it over.
"Okay, my turn… What was your favorite book or series that you've ever read?" she asked, glancing up from her menu quickly.
"I………… have a limited experience." Sebastian scanned the menu briefly. "I don't really know. I guess.. the Sherlock Holmes books?"
"You read Sherlock Holmes? Really?" Devon questioned curiously, her full attention now on him. "I used to read the Nancy Drew books."
"Yeah. Other than that, I didn't read much. Wasn't allowed." His brows drew together. "What's 'Nancy Drew'?"
He wasn't allowed to read anything else? Gosh, what was his childhood like? I wish I could help him…
"Nancy Drew," Devon started, chewing on her lip thoughtfully. "Nancy Drew was a series of books about a girl who solved mysteries. They were pretty popular. In fact, there's a whole new series that came out about her called the Nancy Drew Diaries. I heard that they were okay, but not as good as the old ones."
“Mystery books are pretty good,” he said, remembering. “Nancy Drew.. I’ll look it up later.”
“I still have a few books from when I was younger if you want to borrow them,” Devon offered with a small smile.
Sebastian gave a shy nod. “Thanks.”
“Any time,” Devon said with a small smile before looking back down at the menu.
(G’morning
Skip to when the food comes? Or after? Should we do a plot twist or nah?)
(Morning!
We could do a plot twist. Angst sounds good. After food? Or just after the date, maybe…
Also, Callie and I have a surprise for you!)
(We do, we do! :D)
(How’re you?
After the date sounds good, I’m running out of small talk XD
Oh no
Should I be scared? Is something going to happen to devon? Is it a good surprise?)
(I’m good. You?
Okay. Another cat caller?
It’s a good surprise! You’ll love it!)
(Yeah sure
Oh okay good I was scared for a second)
(M’kay.)
Devon sighed contentedly and set her fork down. “Okay, that was really good. You have a good taste in steak houses,” she chuckled.
Sebastian, who has finished his meal fifteen minutes ago, gave a triumphant grin. “I’m really glad you liked it.” He payed for them both, leading Devon outside.
“I had fun tonight,” Devon said softly as they walked out. “A lot of fun, actually. Thank you for this.”
“It was my pleasure,” he replied warmly, instinctively reaching for her but quickly pulling back.
Devon gave him a small smile when she noticed him pull away. “Thank you for respecting me,” she murmured, taking his hand in hers and squeezing it gently.
Sebastian’s heart skipped a beat as he stared down at their intertwined hands— in all his four months of knowing her, he didn’t think they’d ever had physical contact this prolonged. “N-No problem. Why would I not?”
Devon shrugged and let go of his hand, though she immediately missed the warmth she got from it. “Not everyone does. It’s nice having someone who will.”
(guys thank you so much omg)
“Well, I’ll always respect you,” he said, “I’d be an ass not to.”
